Everything about displays and monitors. 120Hz, 144Hz, 240Hz, 4K, 1440p, input lag, display shopping, monitor purchase decisions, compare, versus, debate, and more. Questions? Just ask!

Software-based Black Frame Insertion (BFI) for VLC, Kodi, Emby, and other video players

Post by dustobub » 26 Dec 2022, 15:33

Just wanted to post to let folks know I created a few feature requests for VLC, Kodi, and Emby to implement a software-based BFI solution targeted to phone and tablets (and for TVs without any motion blur reducing tech).

https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=161532
https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=370948
https://emby.media/community/index.php? ... tion-blur/

If you'd like to see BFI implemented in those players, it probably wouldn't hurt to voice your support in those threads.

Also, feel free to add any comments or link to any other feature requests / discussions related to the implementation of BFI in other video players on this Blur Busters post. Thanks!
