Hello, does anyone have experience with the 2 monitors in the title?

I’m currently trying out the xl2566k(still within return window) and although the display feels very fast, I’m having trouble justifying the $600 on it.

My use case is as follows:

Mostly play Apex and COD multiplayer which both run below 300fps on my PC. I also play a bit of Valorant but not as much as the other 2 games.

Due to not fully saturating the refresh rate, I don’t like using dyac. I’ve tried dyac at 240hz with 240fps lock but notice more pixel inversion (vertical lines) at this refresh rate. At 360hz I also notice the vertical lines but not as much as 240hz.

This leads me to wonder if the VG258qm or a similar panel in its class would suffice for my use case. I want TN because surprisingly I like the look and feel of it in game. I want to try the omen x25 but cant find it anywhere in the US.

So how does the VG258QM compare to the xl2566k in regard to motion clarity, input lag, and response times? Does it also suffer from pixel inversion or is that a unit by unit case?

The main draw of the asus is it goes to 280hz while being less than half the price of the benq.

The dyac is nice imo . If it makes you sick then bring it back.
Apex and COD are nice games fore the monitor also cause of the extra settings. Did u try lowering the OD Overdrive settings? Do play on 360hz with DYAC enabled. Else the monitor is useless.

If you cant fix the problem get a cashback and go for the new 24 inch ASUS 540hz TN Panel. Should be released in a month or two. I think its going to be arround the 600 euro/dollar also. Dont go for the VG258QM.

The dyac looks great when it’s 360fps at 360hz. When the fps dips it doesn’t look as clean as it does without dyac. So 300fps at 360hz looks cleaner without dyac.

When I run 240hz with 240fps lock with dyac, it doesn’t look quite right for some reason. Maybe I need to play with the overdrive.

I don’t trust the upcoming asus panel to have a fast enough response time/refresh compliance to take advantage of the 540hz.

I’m looking at the VG258QM because if it can offer a similar experience to the benq without dyac with FPS between 200-300 it seems like a good deal.

I think I’ll order one from Amazon and directly compare to the zowie.

Did u try lowering the AMA settings? that's the overdrive. If the issue still persist comparing the monitors if possible is a very good solution. why not?

Yes, on impulsed displays image gets duplicated when FPS<Hz which looks worse than 240Hz 240fps. If Zowie made DyAc+Sync (VRR strobing) these problems would be solved because VRR is real-time auto Hz=FPS.

This is going to be even bigger problem for 500Hz DyAc - not fully and properly utilized.

I'd return that BenQ and wait for the upcoming 540Hz TN from ASUS and the 500Hz IPS from Dell. I'm praying for that DELL 500Hz to bring a notable response time improvement, I'm tired of TN colors.

I agree, this is the move, to wait for the 500hz panels to get tested. I’ve already returned my XL due to it being a defective unit.

If the new panels’ response times can keep up with the refresh rates, they seem like the best option. Especially the ASUS with the gsync processor.

I’ve grown to enjoy the motion clarity offered by well implemented gsync at 200+ fps. Very smooth experience, a different kind of smooth than backlight strobing.

Also funny thing is for me, going from 1440p IPS to the benq TN didn’t feel like that big of downgrade in colors in games like Valorant/Overwatch. But I’m sure other games benefit from IPS colors.

Hey what settings do you run on the vg258qm? I picked it up for cheap and can’t seem to get the OD 3.5 to work. I tried the steps from the vg259qm secret overdrive thread, and I just end up with weird Chinese characters on my screen after accessing the service menu.

Also toying around with racing mode + nvidia color saturation vs FPS mode with saturation slider on monitor. What do you run?

I just ordered the 360 dyac and am super hyped about it....

From my understanding it is the lowest input lag lowest blur monitor on the market period assuming I'm always at 360 (or almost always).

Is this true? Or should I also look to get something else to compare the 360dyac that is coming?

The XL2566k is the best 1080p monitor on the market right now. Fastest response times and cleanest looking image with and without dyac. I personally just couldn’t justify the $600 on it as I don’t like using strobing.

The acer 390hz is also good, has one of the lowest input lag out there, even slightly lower than the xl2566k, but its motion clarity suffers. The response time isn’t fast enough to keep up with the 360/390hz. I believe the refresh compliance is under 70% so the image doesn’t look as clean as some other monitors.

If anything, you should compare the xl2566k to the upcoming asus 540hz and Dell 500hz panels. I believe those are releasing Q1/Q2 and would make good competitors to the benq.
