LG27" Oled : Black Screen on alt-tab in Rocket League

Post by Stitch7 » 28 Mar 2023, 18:08

Heya guys, it's been a long time since I've been on this forum, hope you all are doing well :D

This time I come with an issue myself.
I purchased the 27GR95QE set it all up and tested some stuff.

Set up:
Win10
NV531.41 (Newest) with Resize Bar enabled on 3070ti
5600x on a B550 board running very stable BIOS settings

Game Mode disabled
HPET disabled
All XBOX services disabled
Hardware Accelerated GPU scheduling disabled
VRR and HDR disabled on both the monitor itself and windows/nvcp respectively

Set to 240Hz 8-bit RGB with Full dynamic range over HDMI 2.1 in NVCP
Set to 240HZ ( displayed as 239.970Hz) in windows
Tested it on https://www.testufo.com/refreshrate and got 239.976

Removed "TV resolutions" in CRU as it caused a bug with some full screen exclusive games like Rocket League and Valorant making it run at 4k 120Hz and downscaling it on the monitor to native 1440P
https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comme ... t/j33kerg/ -source for the fix

Now I have one small issue left. When I alt-tab out of or into Rocket Leauge, I get a short 1-2 second blackscreen making me think there is a small issue with FSE. On my previous HP Omen x25f 240Hz 1080p monitor I had no such issue.
In say Rainbow Six Terraria and Risk of Rain 2 I have no such issues either.

Does anyone know how I can fix this or what steps I could try?

Cheers, Stitch

Edit: I have tried enabling Full Screen Optimisations by unchecking the "disable FSO" box in executable properties which fixed the black screen. Correct me if I am wrong, but that shouldn't be a good solution right?

on older nvidia drivers my VG279QM would have insane alt tabbing lag the only way to fix it was to remove the HDR data block in cru. not sure if this applies to you but just throwing it out there
