Well, youre looking at various peoples comments which are probably and obviously various different skill levels..

All I will say is, if a fast 360/390hz ips panel is to blurry for you, then you have no choice but to go TN or OLED. So that should narrow your search down. 360/390hz IPS dont seem to blurry to me but... I am not playing competitively or "super fast paced" games.

Well the thing is, this looks blurry to me:

When he does the UFO test it looks kinda blurry. Im running the UFO test on my VG2401 and at 144hz it looks less blurry than the image, but im just looking at the UFO so I guess that's not very scientific.
I was trying to find tests on more modern monitors but blurbusters website hasn't seen updates since 2020?

Also the IPS thing is that some people complain it feels weird:

So im not sure. What if I just buy the best TN panel out there performance wise for Quake? will I also get better colors than what I currently have? if im not mistaken that would be the XL2566K performance wise, not sure about colors.

Just get a XG2431 (best motion clarity due to PureXP), S2522HG or AW2524H if your budget allows for it.
The XL2566K is way too limiting over the above mentioned choices.
That 'tier list' your quake players have mentioned is completely irrelevant and in no way shape or form a good list that tells anything. It's just a anecdote.

Im just worried im not tolerant to IPS panels and they give me a headache you know. Im sensitive to these things.
Does the XG2401 do anything better than the XG2431 or I would be getting a legit upgrade there?

Eyestrain / headaches are very individual and I can't verify whether it can or cannot cause you eyestrain.
If you know what the culprits of your eyestrain / headaches are (for example, sensitivity to strobing), then it's easy to play around that.
The XG2431 is objectively a straight upgrade over the XG2401 due to much better motion clarity (even without strobing, raw response times are very good) and better viewing angles.

What's the thing that imitates CRT? Because I had these problems with CRT back in the day. Since I switched to TNs it feel way ligther. It may be the strobing thing?

Does the TN vs IPS all things default work different in the way the images are displayed to cause this?

About response time, here it's said the Acer 390hz is better:

Viewing angles are irrelevant for me. I sit straight next to the monitor, I never had a problem with TNs in this regard.

How does these compare to the XG251G? I don't see it mentioned much:

Quake 3 - Enemy Territory - Quakelive - Valorant

I am currently running a 144Hz BenQ XL2420T and want to upgrade to 24" FHD 240Hz as well. Location is Europe, which makes the XG2431 very expensive (380€).

Other options I am thinking about:
iiyama G-Master GB2590HSU-B1 Gold Phoenix
Dell S2522HG
MSI Optix MAG251R

Or basically anything you can find here for a fair price:
