Question about graphic cards and 120hz?

Post by megatroooon » 08 Aug 2014, 20:40

Hi, do I need a specific graphic card to play games on a 120hz refresh rate or I just need a fast graphic card. I was reading some threads here and there and I got confused some say you need a compatible graphic card to get to the 120hz refresh rate other mention that you just need a good-fast graphic card.

So please help specific graphic card or a fast graphic card

thanks in advance.

For 120hz fast graphic card (or not so very fast if only older games would be played, you can also always decrease in game graphic quality settings and resolution for a better fps) and for gsync unfortunately only nvidia cards works now. And check list of cards with gsync compatibility: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technol ... orted-gpus

They probably are referring to the connection it needs. Most 120hz monitors require dual link DVI or display port to run at 120hz. Regular DVI can't handle the bandwidth. Some lower end cards might not have that.
