Acer XV272U W2bmiiprx optimal settings?

Post by Kerodon » 31 Dec 2023, 19:22

27" Acer Nitro XV272U W2bmiiprx

I'm playing primarily competitive FPS games and using a GTX 1080. In Hunt Showdown, I average 95 FPS currently until I upgrade PC in the coming months :)
Would it be best to use the Freesync Premium available or should I use Overdrive set to Extreme? I care more about competitive viability than how it looks. HUB did a response rate chart for it but I either didn't see them demonstrate the values for Extreme Overdrive or I am not smart enough to have recognized it. - I Paid $300 For This 1440p 240Hz Monitor - Acer XV272U W2 Review

And any other suggestions on what to use for settings like ACM, VRB, Super Sharpness, Ultra Low Latency. Thanks

I had this monitor for a few days. On the plus side it’s one of the few new ‘gaming’ monitors that doesn’t have unbearable eye strain, high contrast ratio without backlight bleed, and the strobing mode with VRB mode: extreme (brightness level seems somewhere around 110-120cdm2), is one of the few monitors with strobing I find bearable to use.

On the negative side, the monitor seems to have a bit more sluggish cursor movement than other 1440p 240hz panels I’ve tried, the colors on this (BOE panel?) aren’t too hot, and the monitor seems to have waaaay more tearing than some other 240hz panels I’ve tried like XG27AQMR. But just about every new 1440p 240hz panel has numerous problems like this resulting from DSC latency, ultra-wide color gamut eye strain, or some other issue.

TLDR: there’s basically no such thing as a good monitor anymore but you can at least look at this one without getting a headache.
