Take apart a monitor to fix backlight bleed

Post by zn1p » 15 Jan 2024, 15:28

My dell s2417dg has an annoying backlight bleed at the very bottom (1 cm high, but stretches all the way from left to right). I am thinking about taking the monitor apart and taking a look at what can be done to fix it. Do you think I could repair it, if I get all the way to the panel itself?
I also noticed, that the bleed doesn’t appear immediately, it takes few seconds to appear.
The monitor is also warm where it bleeds. Cold everywhere else.
