Is this for real?

Cannot find information regarding it on any site.
There was news of IPS panels with 144Hz capability coming up. Is this a monitor with such a panel or just a case of fake advertising?

Found the specifications on the manufacturer's site. IPS : No. There goes the dream.

3ms GTG on a 144Hz monitor though. Is anyone aware of any other panel that does that? Possible VA panel?

Also under $250 for a 27-inch 144Hz is the cheapest we have seen yet.

Surely the 144Hz thing is wrong. It isn't even listed in the specifications tab, and the 12ms response time pretty much confirms it.
lol, even they can't decide if the monitor is 1080p or 1440p!

You tell me :/
BH video says "3 ms REFRESH RATE"
But in the details it says "3 ms response time"

refresh rate !=response time.
And nowhere in the BH page does it say it's an IPS.
It doesn't mention IPS.

On the TigerDirect page, it says 12ms response time but 144 hz.

Going to assume this is a TN, here.

it's a freaking TN panel.

I checked your link. Still it doesn't say that it is a TN panel.

Also, response time for IPS monitors is bound to be high. 3 ms could be the GTG response time.

The 144Hz is correct.
But the IPS is mis-advertised

It appears to be TN, based on a bunch of google research I've tried. The IPS vs TN is not well specced at other purchase sites. This is likely a case of a Chinese brand with mis-advertised or embellished specs.

That said, it looks quite 'usable'. It's non-strobed (no LightBoost or blur reduction) but apparently has reasonable default color quality, better than the default picture adjustment of big name panels, but is still allegedly a TN panel. Reportedly a high quality picture, at least one review said picture looked better than the ASUS VG248QE. No word on input lag, and if it competes with pro gaming panels like BENQ and ASUS though.

It's sold at places like Walmart for $350.
Also, TomsHardware reviewed their 60Hz 1440p IPS display, the Auria EQ276W.

I first thought it was wholly possible it is a high-quality TN or a lower-quality(but better than TN) faster-responding IPS. 3ms is theoretically well within the ballpark of "IPS next generation" panels, but maybe similar to TN panels such as the pre-LightBoost ASUS VG236H or older displays (one of them had a 3ms TN and had great TN picture quality, albiet more motion blur).
