I think i found out what my problem is... I'm currently using VT 1500 120hz and the proporcional settings pinobot was giving to me and on the desktop environment and general use, I was able to find the sweetspot at Blur Reduction ON, Intensity 16, Area 40 and it seems ok with a perfect amount of brightness.

Now the problem is, somehow whenever i ALT+TAB into CS:GO, i discovered that it takes a bit more time than usual and in-game the brightness levels are aweful! Everything is dark and i can't see a damn thing... It seems that somehow there is some kind of re-adjustment from the monitor or whatever, that changes brightness... When i ALT+TAB out of the game again, it still takes more time than usual, but then again, everything goes back to normal.

Any thoughts?

Are you sure that the refreshrate in CS:GO is 120Hz?
When i get into BF4 and the resfreshrate is lower than the desktop the screen is darker too.

Yeap, you're right, CS:GO doesn't have an in-game option to change the refresh rate of the monitor, which means you'll have to force a frequency on the startup commands through steam, which i had set to 144 hz and didn't even remembered it..

The brightness problem is solved by now :) thanks

What i'm experiencing now if i run the Blur Trail test:http://www.testufo.com/#test=blurtrail& ... ation=1000

At the buttom part of the screen (around 1/3 of the screen) is the second orange line, which it represents blur as you can see from the picture.

Is this supposed to happend?

I have it too, but also at 144Hz so i guess it's just an artifact.

Go into the service menu and mess around with the strobe phase setting. On the 2430T, you can just change the area (= strobe phase) in the OSD.

If you're not using a VT tweak, mess around with values from 1-100. if you are using a VT tweak, don't go past 50 or 59.
If you notice carefully, as you adjust the strobe phase, you will see the 'primary' trail change position and become the secondary trail, or rather, the secondary trail becomes the primary trail.

It's because of how the panel updates the pixel transitions. You will have to ask chief for a more indepth explanation of it, but basically the way the scanout is done, you have the scanout and the pixel transitions at the "top" and the "bottom". Increasing the Vertical total (VT) to 1500 increases the distance from the top strobe pulse (pixel gtg settling error) to the bottom basically by moving the bottom farther away from the top (the top position isn't changed by an increase in VT, the bottom position is moved farther down). So you can see this behavior where one ghosting trail turns from a trail into the primary image. And yes it's fully normal. It's due to how LCD refreshes and the strobe pulses (for strobing) work.

CRT's have a strobe also but don't have this type of problem (LCD's were not designed for strobed backlights originally). The Oculus Rift is being designed with this in mind.

Thanks for the help Falkentyne, i've noticed it while i was adjusting the area settings as you mentioned. When you refer as "50 or 59" you mean "1550 or 1559" ? Yes i'm currently using 1500 VT Tweak...

No I mean "area" or "strobe phase"
It's called strobe phase in the service menu.
the area/strobe range is 0-100. When using a VT tweak, higher values of strobe phase will eventually "reduce" strobe duty (on 2430T this "Raises" the intensity, since strobe duty values are reversed on 2430T from Z series), and once strobe phase gets high enough that the persistence maximum becomes 0.167 ms, one more point of strobe phase will shut off the backlight.
