Hi,
Im looking for a replacement for my xl2411z monitor.
I like the monitor for the most part, but what really annoys me is the ghosting.
I play a lot of CSGO and first I thought its just my imagination but especially on dust2 whenever i do a fast motion with my mouse I can see a shadow behind enemy models on the sandy background.
Ive tried basicly every option I could find to reduce the ghosting:
- updated to v2 firmware
- tried every possible persistence and crosstalk setting (with the strobe utitlity)
- tried ulmb on/off, ama off, high, premium, instant mode on/off
- tried vt 1350, tried vt 1502
But whatever I do I get ghosting. I basicly see objects 3 times instead of once. once at 100%brightness, another at maybe at 50% and one inverted image at maybe -50% brightness. (UFO ghosting test, ama high, 120hz, ulmb on).
Well I looked around the forum and I found some pictures and it looks like that ghosting is pretty normal for this monitor, sooooo Im looking for a replacement. (or a magical fix )
I was wondering if anyone knows a gaming monitor that has REALLY low ghosting.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Wait for a new technology.

xl2411z doesnt have ulmb, you mean bbr?
well crt would be good if it was produced.

Yeah the motion blur reduction thing designed by benq, the alternative to the lightboost hack, thats what i meant.
I read that there are some asus models that have verry little ghosting (only one faint shadow behind the original object and not 2 like the benq), but i wanted to which one is the best

Yea, it's pretty shit on the benq monitors. I know it's not a fix but if you do ever get a Gsync monitor the GSync module in the XL2420G fixes almost all of the ghosting problems. But look at http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/ for acer and asus 120hz+ monitors and check the pixel response specs.
Why do benq suck at Ghosting? I have no idea.

What firmware are you guys using? V2 was sort of bad.
It's much better on version 4 firmware.
MUCH better than Lightboost.
I have the XL2720Z and an Asus VG248QE. The Asus lightboost mode blew away both the Benq's lightboost mode and benq's blur reduction mode (yes I could get the Benq to look decent in lightboost but at the expense of translucent ghosting from lowering the contrast). When I updated to V4 firmware, it turned my 2720Z into a brand new screen. All of the AMA settings were recalibrated and improved, and using the hidden AMA high setting with contrast 0 makes it better than lightboost (at the expense of a washed out screen).

You could try the acer gsync to see if its better, its a vey good monitor too, but I think it will be the same.
