For science ! Flashed my Asus VG248QE with XL2420Z firmware

And after the "pass" message, monitor was as dead as a doorknob. Deader than a doorknob actually since the power button didn't work and it was stuck in standby with the orange light.

But being the smart person I am, I had made a backup beforehand. Because you should always make backups before making the Jonnyguru magic smoke come out you know?

Flash type was still detected so I flashed the backup and after the pass message appeared, the Asus logo appeared right up, with my settings still there.

Monitor was detected over DVI as an XL2420Z even though the refresh rates still had the proper asus ones (vg248qe has 85hz, Benq does not). Anyone have an EDID for the dvi port on the Asus ? seems like the mstar tool doesn't save the edid when making backups but that's cosmetic.

Maybe I'll turn my XL2720Z into an XL2420Z later. At least the scaler and hardware should be more identical.

Well actually EDID is still wrong. Actually DVI refresh rate are same as the Benq now, including the ones in CRU. (60, 100, 120,144 for native, and the 120hz ones in low resolution in CRU standard resolutions; the Asus had all 60hz ones), ), and ID is the same code as the Benq. Displayport is correct, though (including in CRU)..

Anyone know how to dump the EDID using the Mstar tool?
The Benq firmware seems to have the EDID in the firmware file itself. But the Mstar ISP unit won't dump it from the Asus, or it doesn't seem to dump it (Note: I have TWO VG248QE's so I can still get the DVI EDID From the other one...if I knew how...and I'd still have to flash that too)
