unless I did something wrong (right clicked on the ini file and selected "install") it didn't make a difference.

I also tried installing via windows driver update before that and it said that the the current drivers were already better optimized.. or something along those lines.

Hi, I too have an RX 480 and got the same problem with DisplayPort (HDMI 2.0 give less problems)

To solve, first change refresh rate in monitor properties from 59hz to 144hz, apply, then turn off the XL2540 with power button, wait few seconds and then turn on.
Now if you go to monitor properties tab, 240hz value is there for selection. If after apply you got sync error message from windows (I have win 10) do the off/on cicle again and hopefully the monitor locks to 240hz.

I have to do this every time I reset driver with CRU, don't know if is a problem of the GPU or the DP interface :?

Jeez seems like a bit of a process for a "native" 240hz

Will give it a shot when I get home and let you know how I go..

Also, you had much luck calibrating the colours? they're dreadful out of the box !

Yeah it's a bit boring, every time I switch between strobing/freesync profiles the OS reset to 144hz

Set picture mode to standard and gamma to 3 helps a lot for colours (also remove all the black eQualizer/gimmick). Anyway I have a Spider3Elite colorimeter, with some adjustment on RGB levels and a custom ICC the colors are quite satisfactory

I would presume that some updates (OS/drivers/etc) will fix the "revert-to-144Hz" situation, as this is the first time real 240Hz monitors are hitting the market. We're on the bleeding here here!

How many of you here experience this "revert" issue? Is it only a Radeon thing?

Ok thank you let me know^^

Even though it might be several other things involved like Chief stated, like OS/video driver/ or just a Radeon thingy in general

Ok well that worked.

1. set 144hz
2. turn of monitor for for 10 seconds
3. close then reopen display monitor settings
4. select the new 240hz option and apply

screen blanked out for about 10 seconds after applying then sprung to life

looks gooood

Will report back over the next few days to let everyone know of any issues :o)

Thanks for the suggestions Silent Raider! you're a bloody legend
