Choosing A Monitor For Pc

Hi Everyone

Im looking to purchase a Gaming monitor as stated in title above.... Now the games ill be playing are Player unknown battle grounds, H1Z1, Division, Call of duty titles and some Moba games.

Here is what im looking for in a monitor

24inch can go bigger but not keen on it
IPS panel low input lag
Clear image and text, as i hate fuzzy text and image
Excellent colours, Crisp picture image and clarity for seening long distance on open world shooters, being able to spot enemys far away is a must

My budget is around $600 Australian dollars but can go more if needed...

If you have any suggestions pls feel free to let me know

16gb Ram

Usually, the higher the Hz, the lower lag you are able to achieve (at higher frame rates, and in their low-latency mode).
Currently, the lowest-lag IPS monitors are the 27" 165Hz IPS monitors:

- Acer Predator XB271HU
- AOC AG271QG
- ASUS ROG PG279Q
- Viewsonic XG2703-GS

Unfortunately, high-Hz IPS don't come in 24" format at the moment, and they are all over AUD$600!
If you cannot afford these models, your next choice for low-lag IPS is limited to 60-75Hz range.

Do i need to have to have a ips panel to achieve the wants that i need in a monitor ???

Also what 60-75hz ips monitors do u suggest

If you can tolerate viewing angle issues, there are quite a number of high-refresh-rate TN monitors that great low-lag gaming, while still having reasonable colors. Have you had terrible experience with TN monitors? The viewing angles are usually their biggest problem, but if you can tolerate that, several models have relatively good color gamut (>100% sRGB). By going to 2560x1440 (some models may be within your budget), you may gain enough advantages to compensate for the disadvantages of TN.

As we focus on "Better Than 60Hz" monitors... It's hard to advise on specific monitor models, but displaylag.com does good testing with 60Hz lag testing. I'll let other forum members chime in regarding 60Hz recommendations...

I have been using my brothers Benq xl2411z for the time being and its just terrible image quality no clarity and i have to squint my eyes all the time to see enemy's at a distance on battle grounds.....

Im not to worried about input lag just as long as i doesn't affect me when gaming, also what 2560x1440 tn panel with 100%sRGB would you recommend

The xl2411z has no image clarity issues. It's as sharp as it gets and no better nor worse than any other monitor out there.

Perhaps your brother is running it at a non-native resolution. It's an 1080p monitor. If he uses anything else than 1920x1080, it's gonna look blurry. And that's true for every other monitor out there.

The monitor is running native resolution 1920x1080 but like I said I'm having a hard time trying to see enemy's long distance on open world shooters.... So I don't know what else to do so I can see more clearly

If you have an NVidia GPU, then I use an XG2703-GS and I can recommend it. It has IPS glow though, which might be an issue for you if all your past monitors are TN, and it also seems to have quality control issues (same as the other 165Hz IPS monitors), so you need a good return policy from the store you buy in case the one you get has a bad panel.

If you use an AMD GPU, then opt for a FreeSync monitor instead.

I would make sure it has G-Sync (NVidia) or FreeSync (AMD) and read reviews before buying.
