There's seem to be my only two options to get since I'm stuck with an Amazon gift card balance

The Acer is newer so it "Might" use a better panel if not the same one as the VG, It also has freesync which is a bonus if you have a AMD card. Adaptive sync is really quite good :P

You won't be making a mistake getting either tho.

The vg248qe is a pretty tried and true monitor. The acer might be great too but there isn't much good data on both that I can use to compare. I know a number of pro overwatch players still use the vg248qe. It has good response times and is bright. 144hz or 120hz lightboost. And the contrast starts to get exceptional for a TN if you put the refresh lower for watching videos. The trace free setting is nice to improve response times in any mode.

The VG248QE, one of the first "1ms 144Hz TN" monitors, is still a very good eSports monitor even to this day.

For the most part, "24 inch 1ms TN" of 144Hz have been the same panel, and ultimately even the same lag (in most cases). In most cases you want to aim for the one with the best adjustments, best color quality (thanks to better defaults/adjustments/overdrive/etc), and of course, price too when all things are equal.

I've seen prices of both leapfrog over each other, but usually the old VG248QE has been cheaper. The VG248QE still has impressively low input lag even today (in non-LightBoost mode).
