looking for a new 240hz monitor purely for csgo

whats good?

this is purely for csgo only. so i wont be using freesync/gsync. so these dont matter. Just want the best quality

But based on the below youtube reviews, the AOC AG251FZ and Viewsonic XG2530 have frame skips at 240hz. Would these frameskips be something id notice in csgo?

also, based on the above, the AOC cant run at 240hz on a nvidia card (which is what i have) but the viewsonic can.

at the moment im tossing up between zowie xl2540 and xl2546. but since the xl2546 is about $150 more and the only diff is the dyac feature and from what ive read, for csgo, i wont be running this anyway. Should I just go with the XL2540?

Hello,

There is a way to remove the frameskipping on the VIewsonic XG2530 -- open a Custom Resolution Utility and then increase Vertical Total to 1150. The frame skipping stops and the 240Hz works.

Regarding the XL2540 versus XL2546, if you're not going to use DyAc, both of the monitors are extremely similar.

Does the dyac affect input lag? I'm assuming if it's improving picture than its an increase to input

All LCD blur reduction methods will show an increase in input lag, including dyac.

If one was to fix the frame skipping, would the viewsonic essentially be the same monitor as the zowies

Yes, they all use the same panel. And all the G-Sync 240hz all use the same chipset so you can expect the same performance on these aswell.

The Asus/Acer G-Sync 240hz are very good.

I think I'm just going to go with the xl2540 to save costs on a feature I'll never really utilise, as csgo is the main purpose for this monitor, I just want a no nonsense 240hz monitor without the extra features I.e. dyac gsync freesync etc.

I can say the pg258q is an excellent monitor but its best qualities are low input lag, low response time, bright, 240hz, 144hz ULMB, and gsync.

yeh i did also consider the pg258q. However, since the primary use is csgo. I probably wont be using gsync (as this would add some input lag im assuming??? please correct me if im wrong as i dont know much about monitors) and the xl2540 has low input lag, low response time, 240hz
