If I'm understanding the problem correctly, why not just calibrate to D65 while in lightboost mode?

The thing is that something has to be a "standard" to be a standard. As far as I am aware in the PC realm the only real standards are D65 at 2.2 gamma for PC and D65 at 1.8 gamma for apple computers. The 1.8 gamma is preferred for publishing because the images look a specific way when printed on paper. Recently apple has adopted 2.2 gamma, so 1.8 will be falling by the wayside for all but professional publishing editors. There are other white points like D50, D55 and D75, but they are not standards of any sort as far as PCs are concerned. If there is some sort of target Nvidia has established that monitor manufacturers are supposed to hit in 3D vision mode, only nvidia and the manufacturers have the specifications.

If you want to try playing around and use some of the other established white points, here's a good link with x and y coordinants:

As an aside, if you are trying to get rid of the blue band, you might have better luck using a lower gamma target like 1.8 or 2.0. 1.8 will look more "washed out", but this will give you a lot more flexibility at the lower end of the range. At this point you are just looking for the best compromise.
