Looking for a new monitor

Post by mozart » 28 Dec 2017, 18:59

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a gaming monitor to suit my needs, help me :)

I currently have 2 LG 25UM65-P monitors which are great for productivity (I work from home as a programmer) and I'm looking to either replace one of them or just buy a third monitor and put it on the table/take it off when I game.

I dont think I could have 1 LG 25UM65-P and 1 gaming monitor as the image quality and PPI difference would be too big...

I got to LEMr in CS:GO which is kind of high, but I always felt like I was missing something.

Also, been playing a lot of PUBG lately and it is honestly really hard to spot enemies on that small screen... It is 25inches, but everything is a lot smaller compared to a 24inch 1080p screen.

Currently I have a gtx 970 and core i5-2500k.

The 'only' viable option I found at around 300 euros is AOC G2460PG as it has g-sync. Looks like a decent monitor from the information I've read.
I do occasionally play other games where g-sync could be useful.

So the question is - are there other screens in the same price category that have g-sync and might be worth looking into?

And is g-sync really worth it? Or should I save myself 50 euros and go for something like LG 24GM77 or other cheap benq 144hz monitors ?

Thanks in advance!

Been gaming for many years, looking forward to try more than 60hz :)

I love G-Sync, i think it's always worth it.

Just cap your game below the maximum refreshrate and you get no tearing with no added latency :)

IMO gsync is the most important upgrade for gaming.

I see, thank you for replying.

Any comments on the AOC I've chosen?

It will perform the same pretty much the same as all the other 144hz G-Syncs.

Pretty good.
