Thats great to know!

I think the XL2540 uses voltage-boosted strobing, so it can achieve brighter at shorter persistence. The DyAc monitors tend to be brighter.

You can lower Strobe Length to make map labels readable at 1920pps or 3000pps, but the screen may go very dim.

Also, please try Strobe Utility at www.blurbusters.com/strobe-utility and let me know if it successfully works with XL2740.

change intensity may just change the brightness, no visible effect on motion clarity to me, could not make the street name more readable
strobe utility is no go,with hdmi 2.0, identified as generic pnp monitor in device manager

I'm not quite in the know about Benq, does it just have a newer panel or what?

Isn't this the same exact type of "bug" in the XL2540 originally?
This monitor was advertised as supporting ADAPTIVE SYNC and never blur reduction.
And in the original very first firmware, changing INTENSITY only changed the brightness, didn't change the blur reduction at all.

Only in newer firmware, did changing intensity actually change the strobe persistence properly.

Does the monitor produce any coil whine sort of noise when above 144hz or at 240hz?

Ever since BenQ Zowie came up with DyAc:

Blur Reduction has been an unofficial feature in many of the non-DyAc BenQ/Zowie monitors. It's there, but it's an unofficial feature whenever DyAc is not advertised.

That said, strobe intensity should be changing pulse width, not pulse height. Otherwise, persistence does not go down. It may be time for me to remind BenQ-Zowie, I'll reach out to my contacts.

yes. i believe so, I place the monitor next to chassis it's still noticeable while web surfing, while gaming the air-cooling noise kicks in

Thank you for checking. Seems to be an issue with the 240hz panels that many don't notice or comment on I suppose.

I've got a Acer 240hz 24" G-Sync that doesn't make a sound.
