Are there two different models of this monitor?
What is it's MPRT? Is that the same thing as Blur Reduction?

Semantically:
MPRT stands for Motion Picture Response Time -- covered at http://www.blurbusters.com/1000hz-journey
It's simply a motion blur benchmark number. The lower the better.
Not the same thing as Blur Reduction.

MPRT is always at least a refresh cycle length (8.3ms for 120Hz, 16.7ms for 60Hz) if the display is not strobed.

However, MPRT motion blur benchmark numbers of 1ms or 2ms usually indicates blur reduction, yes.
But MPRT of 2ms can also be achieved using 500fps at 500Hz too, as an alternative to 2ms-flash strobing.

The LG has 1ms MPRT, which suggests 1ms strobe length, which is approximately as good as ULMB Pulse Length ~50% or LightBoost ~10%. (Though the LG, is much, much, brighter than LightBoost 10%).

That said, I think it is 1ms MPRT during 240Hz strobing. I think it lengthens to 2ms MPRT at 120Hz strobing.
Currently AFAIK, the strobe pulse length is not adjustable.

(but jokes aside, k2viper could answer that, provided he has experience with CRTs... when it comes to my opinion though, even my xl2411z is superior in gaming to even a high-end crt like the ibm p275 I own.)

I'm seeing some good pricing on it so it might be a reality for me soon, hence my questioning

In terms of input lag it's really CRT-like. It's better then CRT due to a higher res, higher refreshrate and wider field of view. A little worse in moving picture clarity.

I think in 2019 we'll see new 27 240hz based on planned renewed AOU panels with reduced response time, there I hope it would be possible to achieve full 240hz CRT-like 1ms persistence.

For strobing, not anymore. It's definitely less than 2ms now.

LG has massively improved their strobing implementation since the days of the LG24GM77. They're right up there with the "Good" implementations now.

That said, temper your expectations if you plan to use 240Hz strobing instead of 120/144Hz strobing. There will always be a bit of strobe crosstalk for top/bottom edges of screen during 240Hz, but surprisingly, it's not *that* objectionable since you're usually staring at the middle of the screen anyway -- and apparently the LG supports a 1/280sec scanout with a Large Vertical Total trick at 240Hz -- it actually slightly reduced strobe crosstalk. It's currently the first 240Hz monitor to support Large Vertical Totals (a strobe-crosstalk-reducing trick).
