I can wholly recommend the XL2740 to anyone looking for 240hz strobing... I've had both the LG and the Benq, and first off, you have to tweak the LG to get it decent... but no matter how much you tweak it, you can't get movement to look as clear on it, as it does on the Benq out of the box. (This applies to both sample-and-hold as well as strobed operation.)

Yeah, the XL2740 looks very good.

This quote still applies even though you didn't test in original mode (or did you?) that reduces the lag, correct? I know the pixel transition times seem a bit slow for 240hz too.

He stated earlier he never tried Original mode sadly.

If i remember correctly Solid Lad, you said the 2740's non strobed mode is even better than the LG's strobed mode, which would really testify the bad performance of the LG. I somehow don't want to believe that, it's the only strobing monitor i can afford :(

BenQ XL2740 vs LG 27GK750F-B according to koreans. Considering I would've needed to pay almost 3 times as much for BenQ I took the "crappy" LG.

The Input Lag of the PLAYWARES standard is about 3-5 ms. It has the ability to support the user's immediate input (play) with a very low / difficult-to-experience input delay of less than 10ms. For this monitor, there is Instant Mode in the Display Settings (OSD) for the purpose of controlling the Input Rack, the default setting for Instant Mode is ON, and the above result is the value measured in that reference. You can change Instant Mode to OFF state, but since a better option is specified by default, please refer to the simple reference level.

In terms of PLAYWARES, the Input Lag of the LG 27GK750F is confirmed in about 2-4 ms. Refresh Rate At 240Hz, 1 frame is about 4ms. It does not provide separate options for Input Rack, it supports user's immediate input (game play) with very low input delay within 10ms, and has performance that satisfies game (play) with normal use (input) You can say.

Well lads..

Funny thing, I just connected my old benq 2720z next to 27CFg73 my son uses. Well, tried extended, then "copy or so" screen option.
Both were running 144Hz.
All ufo tests was looking better on Benq, than samsung. Samsung was fkn blurry, like no strobe on, and I was sure it was on, should be, by just looking in options. But bee was blurry, ufos too(no crosstalk), cannot clear read street names on maps...
Tried diggin in options, and, somewhow, after some switch mode from normal to fastest preset(samsung has 3 presets for gaming) then boom, strobing started working and was looking awesome. Like on Benq 120Hz, but brighter, clear top to down(or at least more clear than benq while testing with 144Hz), just beautiful. Like in quebec windows was not blurred, some faint ghost(1 only) image after ufos, all way up and down, not too much crosstalk. Just fkin awesome. And was fkin annoyed, angry, because earlier it looked like crap, and I COULD buy another CFG73 for myself instead this LG and with 144Hz picture would be better. Because it is better. FFS!

Maybe I doing something wrong, but I got feeling, that strobing in my LG suck ass hard or is killed by ghosting/inproper overdrive or other issue, that kills/handicap this feature and making it half usefull. I see strobing works, but...geez.
Il try some Vt tricks, more of them and will see, but for now, I rather will return it. It is just not worth it even with 380e proce with shipping. I shuld focus on my sons screen and buy same, for colours, curvature, and blacks. And really good strobing.

Thanks for digging this up @Shekel.

From what i understand from this review is, that when 1MS Blurr reduction is turned on, the LG is damn good actually?
The youtube video comparison also shows that at 240Hz 1MS BR ON the monitor is pretty much on par with the XL2740.
If i understood this review correctly, that is...

Now i would be curious if someone could compare these two monitors directly, to once and for all settle this topic. Ugh.

@Gregix: So you're telling me your 144Hz strobing Samsung is performing better than the LG strobing at 240Hz... what?
If this is true, then surely i won't be buying the LG. Please make some more tests if you can...

yea, I'll make some pics. Did LGs Ufo so far and it shows what I see in real use. Something I cannot see in k2viper pics from 3 or 4 page this thread. Like we have completely different screens.
Maybe it is fw difference, mine is 7 ending. Or maybe something else.

Strobing seems bad on mine too.. but yes you need to do the VT tweaks (if they even work) to get it to look like k2viper's, in theory. I haven't yet been able to get the VT tweaks to work, though. 144hz strobing on my LG 27GK750F-B is worse than 120hz or 240hz by a long shot; what I mean is, a duplicate image is very noticeable. Might not even be due to the monitor or its strobing implementation, but I think it is.

That'd be pretty bad if true, honestly..

240 Hz + strobing makes the text on the street map test almost unreadable when it was perfect on my 24GM79G, I've tried k2viper's VT tweak but it doesn't seem to do anything for me. Regarding the UFOs and strobing, on my monitor there's a pretty faint trail behind the UFO, nothing too bad IMO but I can't take a picture of it as my smartphone's camera isn't that good.

k2viper, is the text readable to you in street map test while using 240Hz + strobing?

Can someone else also confirm this?
@Shekel did u make sure to choose "original aspect ratio" option in OSD ?
