@Falkentyne

Is this the first time using Adaptive Sync? Do you still prefer BR? I know you're a big advocate for BR but it seems like everyone i talk to who gets a G-Sync monitor really likes the Adaptive Sync and not so much the BR.

I can't use blur reduction on my laptop. Laptop panels don't support ULMB.

And PUBG's Framerate is too erratic to maintain 120 fps/120hz or 100 fps/120hz even if I hook up my benq desktop. There's too much stuttering.

I may buy that Dell 27" TN and try that ULMB+Gsync hack thing. But I don't know if it will work over eDP. And there's no way for me to find out unless i actually test it by spending money :(

Over eDP? it's just normal Displayport, eDP is what connects from the motherboard to the inbuilt panel.

Well it doesn't function exactly like normal displayport.
On my Benq XL2720Z, pixel clocks higher than 330 mhz don't appear as a custom refresh rate in ToastyX CRU when created. It only uses the defaults. It *DOES* appear when created through the NVCP. Masterotaku said its no coincidence that 330 mhz is also the dual link DVI limit. Yet I'm using DP.....

Pixel clocks higher than 359 mhz created through the NVCP hard lock the Benq monitor with a black screen until I abort the test. Upon further testing, it looks like this is because 6 bit BPC is forced at >359 mhz. Trying to force 6 BPC just locks the monitor up with a black screen.

This does NOT happen on the AMD video card. I've been above 390 mhz on the 290X.

This looks like a bug, because the laptop panel has no option for selecting 6bpc except after a display driver crash.

With this kind of crap, there's no guarantee custom refresh rates with the Dell monitor would even work....

TIL.

Well that sucks, i wonder if it's just the implementation on your laptop and/or newer ones have this problem. But yea, that sucks.
