hey guys

i need you help please
i purchased asus pg258q today

and i noticed that there is a dark spot looks like dead or dark pixel

please check the attached photo

when you zoom in the photo looks like dark spot but not sure if is it dead pixel or not

Looks more like a speck of dust behind the front plastic maybe?
btw, how do You like that monitor ?

gsync with 240hz is amazing

better colors and gamma compared to xl2540

That looks like dust.

A dead pixel would look like this:

You can try flicking the area a couple of times with your finger or gently rubbing at it with a microfiber cloth to see if you can dislodge it, but if it doesn't budge, you're better off leaving it alone. And do not try to use something like compressed air; it will only introduce more particles into the screen, and you'll never be able to reverse that damage.

If you can't tolerate that dust speck, you can attempt to exchange it for another unit, but you run the risk of worse issues, or another dust speck in a different part of the screen.

One thing to maybe try (but it can be dangerous so I do not advise!) would be to take a suction cup and try gently pulling on this place so maybe the dust would fall down.

I once replaced send one of Iiyama screens under warranty because there was a freaking bug walking inside. And they sent me back a panel with dust speck... but by the time I had old one packaged, the bug was gone :lol:

i think iam going to keep my monitor and live with this small dust as jorimt says better

Yea ive got a 240hz monitor, and its new and i have pretty bad OCD, thank you for bringing down my anxiety about the fact that my 500 dollar christmas present isnt fucked up
