Technical reason? I beleive no. Strobing is not-a-must option for most of the nowadays users, and the younger is the user the less he (probably) will need the strobing. I already see that many people today dont understand why you may need blur reduction at all. They grew in LCD-only environment and just dont have a view of CRT-like motion clarity and non-sample-and-hold displaying principles.

Thats why many modern monitor vendors do not implement strobing at all. Luckily, some display scalers vendors (like Mstar) I beleive already provide strobing as pre-tuned and easy to implement option in their hardware and its firmware. So it is not a big deal for a display vendor to implement strobing, if he decides to.

I haven't had significant problems with my Acer 27-inch 240hz monitor.

Interesting. I owned two AG251fg monitors with the famous 24,5" 240hz panel.
There were no scanlines like on 144hz tn panels
Colors were good
Contrast was surprisingly good 1000:1 (unlike mostly 600:1 on 144hz mode on 144hz old type)
What was problematic for me was:
-bad viewing angles. Gamma changed a lot and was bad 2.0 in the middle to begin with
-very weird bad clouding and whole light stripes on sides and bottom. It's edge lit bleeding.

So I loved the motion but had to sold the monitors because of these issues. I don't play competitive games and the monitor was ruining my media and single player games experience due to bleeding, gamma and banding.

Now I only use 27" 1080p 60hz ips and wait for new thing to happen. I don't even need strobing. 240hz have good performance as it is and things are super clear. Gsync is a must though.

And 27" 1080p is fine. Better than 1440p since 1440p is a stop gap resolution to 4k and without integer scaling, it sucks for 1080p content

Definately the panel / monitor many have been waiting for. Do not regret buying my pg258q because it was still contender for the top for over a year. But to be honest I was hoping for slightly better pixel response.

And yes of course 240hz+ gsync ulmb is still the holy grail. Vrr and strobing go together like things that go together. Great motion clarity with the performance benefits of vrr canceling out the need for vsync or frame limiters and letting us leverage the full power of our systems.

Perhaps we'll get more info on the monitor after MGA 2018

As a part of the event, players will be amplified by MSI’s newest high-performance gaming products including the Infinite X desktop and Oculux NXG251 gaming monitor. (...) The Oculux is making its North American debut during the tournament. It is MSI’s first gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-Sync technology.

the real question is how the input lag on the new panels
