I usually don't recommend HDMI on PC if you have an NVidia card. Very often, you get completely wrong colors that result in a washed-out image. The reason being that the NVidia driver will very often treat displays connected with HDMI as TVs and output a limited color range to it, even though the display expects full color range.

You can't go wrong with DVI. You're guaranteed proper colors.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do here. Your graphics card has a DVI port, and so does your monitor, right? You only need a normal DVI-D or DVI-I cable. You don't need to convert anything.

Well, I can't guarantee that there won't be any issues with a needless conversion from DP to DVI. I recommend just ordering a normal, bog-standard DVI-D cable, or asking the local shop to get one for you.
