Monitor Recommendation

Post by Souraishin » 27 Jun 2018, 03:53

Hey folks!

After browsing lately for a while trying to gain some new knowledge about displays, I found the Blur Busters forum page. Up until now all I cared about regarding monitors was the refresh rate and the response time. Having read in-depth explanations of other important aspects such as motion blur reduction, input lag etc. , I realized how shallow my knowledge was.

From here on, I decided to ask for help, which resulted in this first post of mine here :D.

I'm mainly playing fast paced shooters (like Overwatch, Quake).
Color quality doesn't matter to me at all. I need something really fast that won't let me down by being consistently reliable. My budget is 400 Euros.
So according to your opinion, taking every single aspect of your knowledge into account, which is the the best monitor suited for me and my purposes?

TL,DR: The best and fastest monitor for 400 Euros and less ^^

I'm grateful to any helpful answer in advance.

Looking forward,
Souraishin

It's a GTX 1070.
Concerning VRR, not necessarily, as long as the main conditions are met (speed etc.) I'll be satisfied ^^

Virtually none of the high-refresh (144Hz or higher) gaming monitors will "let you down". They all have very low levels of input lag and are very much suited even for high level competitive play. So my recommendation would be to look for a monitor that has the features you want and good image quality. If the reviews for the monitors that make it on your "look at" list don't mention any weirdness with input lag, then you should be good to go.

Given the information you've provided I would definitely recommend the benq xl2540 240hz. There are others that could do the job but I doubt to the same quality as the benq.
