When do the good 21:9 screens arrive? (or what do i buy now)

So I've been waiting for a worthy ultrawide to be released ever since they first hit the market. I've bought a few but sent them back after a few days as I was just not happy with them as they always seem to have inferior performance / resolution / refresh rate / features.

I'm currently using a Benq XL2730Z which I actually upgraded to from an Asus PG278Q purely because the ULMB was (much) brighter and didn't have as bad colour drift. All I really want is a bigger version of the same screen, although I wouldn't turn down nice extras such as better colour reproduction, HDR or a higher refresh rate. I don't really care about GSYNC since I tend to run high framerates anyway. Ideally I'd like to go to IPS or VA instead because of the colour reproduction but I've never seen one that performs half as well as a TN for the clarity of moving images.

TL;DR When will the 21:9 3440x1440 144hz+ HDR screens with blur reduction come out, I have a 2080 Ti on the way and I want to see shiny things.

I'm also eager to get a 21:9 aspect ratio 4K-ish monitor, hopefully 3840 x 1600 which is what most UHD Blurays are, so see them in 1:1 (with vertical cropping if they are higher than 1600 vertically since the exact height varies quite a bit from one movie to another).

I do a lot of coding too and prefer a wide single screen than dual monitors on my desk.

For me the ideal panel is VA and curved to make up for VA's weaker off axis performance. Native contrast is super important to me, and 3000:1 to 5000:1 beats the pants off IPS' 1000:1. Of course IPS + FALD for HDR is probably more than good enough, I'd still rather VA + FALD for less blooming.

Another thing to consider is this: With DP 1.4, you need DSC compression to hit 144hz at 4K 144hz in HDR10 (10-bit) in 4:4:4. The latest 2000$ ASUS G-Sync monitor doesn't have DSC so it drops to 4:2:2 at any refresh rate above 98hz.

I don't like the idea of spending this amount of cash on a display that can't use HDR10 and 4:4:4 at its max refresh rate:

But a 3440 x 1440 HDR monitor in 21:9 could actually do 144hz without DSC. I still think it's better to just wait for DSC-enabled monitors, and get the full 4K experience, but I also don't want a 27 or 28 inch screen at that DPI, I think 4K is better at 32 inches diagonal or whatever that would be in 21:9 (probably 35 I'm guessing).

Yeah i was concerned about the colour performance on the new panels at high refresh rates too :/ Shame even the new next gen cards are still limited by displayport 1.4
Yeah 4k @ 27" is a complete waste imo, 3440x1440 is a sweet spot for me personally, its high enough res for things like coding and games but not so high that it cripples the gfx card completely.
I'd love it if they could make a VA panel that performed better in games but I'm not sure its a possibility, I'm just really sensitive to blur since I've started using ULMB and now I'm not sure I could ever go back ;)
