Colt3d, as it seems you already familiar with CRU so just try to increase VT at default 240hz resolution. 599mhz pixelclock is not a concrete wall, at least not on all monitors, e.g. LG 27GK750F-B works all the way up to 640mhz which creates more VT tweaking headroom.
And I'm almost sure that LG and XL2546 uses the same Mstar scaler with the same default strobe settings, so it worth trying.

Unfortunately I did test this several days ago and with the current front porch, sync width, back porch, blanking numbers I could never get a resolution past 599 mhz pixel clock working (I get loss of signal with anything higher than 600 Mhz pixel clock) , 599 Mhz seems the limit and is already 5 Mhz higher than the supposed maximum 594 Mhz pixel clock I got from using the default values for a 240hz refresh rate.

This seems to be an arithmetic hard limit but sadly I dont know anything about front porch, sync width, back porch, blanking values to try and optimize this further as Im not sure if itd be worth the extra research since I dont know how much better the crosstalk could get.

i can confirm that 599 is limit for my monitor as well, i also lose signal the moment i try to go to 600 or higher mhz

Hey Colt,

just curious on your framerates. i play overwatch as well and I kind of went through a cycle of this:
Dell 2716DG
then
Alienware 2518 G sync variant
Backup Acer kg251q freesync (I realized that the VRR wasn't important)
now I have Acer XBHU1B (IPS variant)

My main issue about getting frames above 240 consistently was my CPU, I have a 1080ti, GPU utilization is usually around 40-60% max. It would top out my i5-6600k which was oced to 4.4 ghz. So I upgraded to the 8700, cpu normally runs at about 80% utilization - so I think it's still the main bottleneck but my frames are 240+ consistently.

My understand is that overwatch can utilize 6 cores, but i'm not sure if that's true.

Just wanted to see what you saw in regards to GPU and CPU utilization and if you have consistent 240hz +.

Lastly, what heroes are you playing? I assume hitscan? And probably tracking as opposed to flick?
Soldier75 / Zarya vs Mcree / Widowmaker / Ashe.

My backup rig actually is a 1070ti machine on the i5-6600k gpu but on the 144 hz dell.

I currently use the predator because I need the size and 1440p for screen realistate for work. So i've given my 240hz monitors to my son and daughter who also play overwatch. (lol)
