ViewSonic VX3211-4K vs BenQ EW3270U (budget 4K HDR)

Post by walktexranga » 06 Oct 2018, 20:48

Hi guys, new member, long time visitor, always linking people to articles here to understand high hz gaming and G-Sync.

I currently game on a PG279Q and love G-Sync, but I want to get a secondary 4k 60hz monitor for occasional 4k game + ps4 pro.

I was considering these two panels as they tick all the boxes (cheap, VA panel for good blacks, 4K, HDR*)
*pretend HDR

These monitors seem so evenly spec'd I was wondering why there is such a difference in price.

BenQ EW3270U = $850 AUD
ViewSonic VX3211-4K = $600 AUD

The issue is the more expensive BenQ has heaps of reviews and looks great even in HDR (just high color gamut, not amazing blacks or peak brightness like real HDR).

But I cant find anything on the Viewsonic, so I didnt want to grab the viewsonic and have regrets. Here is the comparison I found

Anyone tried the viewsonic?

The BenQ looks good even in HDR see here for comparison https://youtu.be/LEd98POv_9g?t=336

I know it isnt real HDR, I just figured its better to have 4k panel with basic HDR then one without any, especially as they arent much more $ over the non HDR panels. Being VA will have nice 3000:1 native contrast so that is nice.. Only dislike of my ASUS PG279Q is the horrible blacks.

Thanks guys :)
