I'd love to put an oscilloscope to it, to see what the GtG curves look like.
I can kind of tell (merely looking at lower Hz curves such as 144Hz to 180Hz) whether or not I think it might be a good 480Hz panel in the future. There will be difficulties with getting that frequency through without redesigning the TCON and row/column addressing electronics, but I would at least sort of tell if the panel itself (pixels in the LCD glass) may be able to handle it without too much degradation later on in the future.

So is it possible to modify these panels to perform at 480hz, or could it be?

I don't know yet at this time. But you can bet AUO is researching as we speak.saw141 wrote:So is it possible to modify these panels to perform at 480hz, or could it be?

Ugg, 1080p. I wish there were more news on the 0.5 ms 2560x1440 240 Hz panels.
