Maybe that depends on the samples and we had different luck. My alienware struggles hard on bright colours while xg248q doesnt. It is way faster. Same with input lag.

Now I hope you are not using anything higher than Level 3 Overdrive on the Asus. At least on my unit it gets bad after Level 3 (purple trail on grey/dark colours) and obvious overshoot.

Try keeping DisplayPort wires away from your power supply & away from power bars & away from power wires / outlets (by at least several inches where possible). See if that helps to an extent. High Hz with high bandwidth is very sensitive to issues. However, it could be a monitor defect as well since you had an XL2546. You may want to try one cycle of RMA to see if this solves the problem, e.g. a monitor that is more sensitive to disruptions than average especially when warmed up.
Problem resolved! My graphic card ASUS RX480 have a problem with monitor only on 240Hz. I try with another graphic card - R9 270X, no have a flicker-flashing issue.

It can also be a defective graphics card (bad output jack). All the newer cards should be able to do 240Hz fine.

Can't be used at the same time, but you can test one or the other.

Yes, that's indeed a great deal. Good catch!

Uhm, hello. Hooe someone will answer me. So my xg248q just arrived, i connected it to my gtx 1080 with the dp cable that has come with it. initially the monitor was set to 60hz so i went to nvidia control panel but the highest option is 120hz. Why is this? When the pc is off and the monitor on it says “ no display port cable detected” is it normal? I’ve already tried plugging/unplugging the dp cable but no luck... help pls, sry for my bad english

Hi! On nvidia control panel scroll down on the resolutions until you see "PC" and choose 1080p 240hz there, not on "Ultra HD, HD" that appears at the top.
