Anything I can do to reduce the inverse ghosting of XL2411P?

Post by jadefire5643 » 12 Dec 2018, 12:42

It only has two overdrive (AMA) settings: High and Premium. Both of them produce noticeable inverse ghosting (coronas), but especially so on Premium. Keeping the setting to off is bad because the regular ghosting is there, and the input lag is much higher. Premium offers the best response time, but the inverse ghosting is really annoying. Any ideas?

My acer xb has a service menu where I can set overvoltage from 0 to 255. Have you looked in your service menu?

I don't see xl2411"P" but maybe one of these will work.

It says that you need to enable blur reduction, but I found out that I am flicker sensitive. I can't use blur reduction for more than 1 hour before my eyes get fatigued and I see flickering lights on my retina :(

Nope. Overdrive (your monitor calls it "AMA") is not configurable by the user other than what you get in the OSD.

Keep in mind that the colder the panel is, the more ghosting it has. Is it especially cold where you live?

Do you guys know some good 144hz monitors without inverse ghosting issues, but with great response time still? I can still return this monitor, but I don't know what else to get.

AMA granularity is very limited.

However, if you use blur reduction with Blur Busters Strobe Utility (or the factory menu), try the large vertical total trick as it can enlarge the crosstalk-free zone. Specifically, VT1502 works on XL2411P.

Dear OP,

Please let me know how the large vertical total trick works for you. I was considering buying the same monitor.

Thanks!
