Kjnmr wrote:Thanks for all the info! I highly value your opinion since I read you also play fast paced games like quake. Do you think the 24 inch viewsonic will be a noticeable upgrade to my older benq 144hz? I found no review on input lag on my old monitor, so I cant compare them.
No problem! If you already have a 144hz monitor, buying another 144hz monitor, even if the input lag is vastly inferior, ends up being a "sidegrade". In your situation the only worth upgrades imo would be:

- 1440p 144hz
- 1080p 240hz

With that being said, ViewSonic XG2402 is for sure a better monitor for gaming than your current option, but, wether or not you are willing to spend money on that, is up to you! I would, but I´m crazy addicted to monitors and this kind of stuff! :D I had most of the first gen 240hz monitors; then I switched to the new Asus XG248Q 240hz because it is the first native 240hz screen, and I also have tried many secondary monitors, wich right now is XG2402. Had VA, curved, flat, TN, IPS, etc. I love monitors, and Quake being my main game, contributes a lot for this. Is the perfect benchmark for monitors, mouse, mousepad, keyboards, Synch technologies, etc

Just waiting on those Oled 120hz now :)

So i’m looking for a 240hz monitor too. I really apreciate G-Sync. I mainly play csgo etc BUT I really like when I play casual games that you can turn up the graphics and enjoy the g-sync as you limit your fps.

In this thread a lot of good things is Said about the Asus XG248Q as it is not a 1. Gen and have ‘native’ 240hz. I am really considering it as it has the lowest input lag (As I stated my main game is Csgo) .
And it’s on sale for 375 dollars in my country right now till the 19. Of january (Normal Price 550 dollars)

Should I go with this one or do any of you know a monitor as good with g-sync and being a 24~ inch and not 27inch.

If Ican’t get a monitor as good with G-sync as the Asus XG248Q as it is not a first gen 240hz etc. I’m going to buy it on sale now. I’m just Asking for someone who knows a bit more about this subject and maybe find some luck :)

And do any of you know if there are any upcomin 240hz or higher hz coming soon or at CES (24~ inch keep that in mind)
Because I can wait a month or two but If nothing is coming out I won’t wait

Hope you can help.

An interesting twist just happened today....

The XG248Q is now one of the "G-SYNC Compatible" monitors at www.blurbusters.com/gsync-loves-freesync

Yes! And I got mine 3 weeks ago for 339€ wich was a big deal! Now I have VRR too as I have a nvidia GPU. Altho I don´t think VRR would benefit on 240hz, but still adds value to the monitor :)

It means you will be able to enable g-sync on that monitor, even though it's freesync. (Once nvidia releases their new freesync supporting drivers, which should happen around January 15, I think.)

I hope you mean the XG2702. I'm curious to know if you get excelent input lag, almost no blur and decent image.
According to RTINGS it should perform the same as XG2402:
"We tested the 24" ViewSonic XG2402. It is also available in 27" (XG2702), and for the most part, we expect our review to be valid."
