new monitor 240hz or 144hz

Currently I´m playing on a 60hz monitor and I thought it was time for an upgrade.
I play games like fortnite, wow, lol, maybe little cs go.
I thought about purchasing a 240 or 144 hz monitor with freesync (since it is useable with Nvidia soon - I have a gtx 1060).

There is an offer on Amazon for Acer XF0 XF250Qbmidprx, 24.5" (UM.KX0EE.A01) for 270€ right now.
I also thought about Dell Alienware AW2518HF which would cost me around 350€ and AOC G2590PX (only 144hz) for 230€.

Any recommendations?
Are there any problems like high input lag or frameskipping with these monitors?
I'm not really in hurry so I could purchase a monitor, test it on any flaws and send it back if needed.

If the 240hz price is very similar to the 144hz option, I would say 240hz would be the best bet. However I can see the games you play are not the ones who benefit the most from 240hz. Also you don´t have the best GPU in the world.

Considering that tomorrow we will be able to use Variable Refresh Rate with Nvidia and most FreeSync monitors, I think aiming for the 141fps lock + Async is the most logical option. 240hz had a big advantage regarding:

- (almost) lack of tearing at unlocked framerates (no need for Gsync or FreeSync, no worries about framecaps as 240hz is a very high refresh rate)
- better motion clarity

Since now almost everyone will be able to have awesome motion clarity (as VRR delivers better motion clarity than no VRR/unlocked frames) and no more tearing, I don´t know. 240hz would still give you an input lag edge, but it is tiny and the games you play don´t seem to benefit a lot from that. If you can pick:

- ViewSonic XG2402
- ViewSonic XG2401
- LG 24GM79-B
- Msi Optix MAG241C

For good prices, then go for it. IF the prices are too close from 240hz you have to decide. 240hz even with its drawbacks (overshoot, scan lines, high input lag at 60hz) is still objectively superior to 144hz. Just remember, current only 240hz advantage will be input lag. And 144hz input lag at 141fps is already amazing, depending on the monitor. 240hz is just closer to CRT.

Thanks for your help so far :)
ViewSonic XG2402 would be 250, only 20€ less than the acer with 240hz.
I thought going for a 240hz might be smarter regarding the future. I mean I'm not gonna have the weak setup with the 1060 for ever.
"I think aiming for the 141fps lock + Async is the most logical option." - why do I have to lock below 144? To not get input lag?
Is there something wrong with AOC G2590PX in particular because you didn't put it in your list of recommendations.
What do you think about Acer XF XF250QA in case I want the 240hz?

I read https://www.blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync ... ttings/14/ what explains the 141 fps lock.
The article is about g-sync. Does it translate to freesync 100%?

It should, but it might not. We're not sure.
