LG 27gk750f-b How to "achieve" 240hz.

Post by KadisR » 15 Jan 2019, 00:28

Hi! First, i apologize for my ignorance here.

After 8 years i bought a new computer and monitor. I was using a random lg 60hz 21.5' with my x6 1100T, 4gb ram gt420 (haha). This is my new setup:
Ryzen 7 2700x
Msi x470 Gaming Pro
16gb (2x8) 3200mhz cl14 FlareX
Msi rx 580
Monitor 27gk750f-b

First time I turned on the computador, i downloaded the drivers from both mb and amd site. It was a disaster, i don't know if i did somethin wrong, but there were a ton of errors while "installing" it. Then i just formated and installed my old disc-drive to use the cd's. Ok, no errors. The monitor automatically went to 144hz (it was on 60hz all the time before) after i installed everything.

Anyway, sorry about the useless-long text above. To the point, how do i "achieve" 240hz? Do i need some kind of software? I contacted lg and they said that it's only possible when 1ms motion blur is on, then i went to play CS:GO turned it on and it's still 144.
The games i play: Lol, Dota2, PoE, CS.

Btw, I'm using the hdmi cable, just because it was the first one i touched. Didn't tested with DisplayP because ppl say it would be the same.

Sorry about my engrish, it's not my native language.
Thank you all for your attention. Have a great night.

Holy god, i'm more stupid than i thought. After quite some time trying to search on radeon configs or lookin for all kind of stuff on internet all i had to do was to go on advanced display setting on windows itself and change to 240hz.... Sorry about this thread.

It is recommended to use DP connection. Read FAQ post about this monitor: viewtopic.php?p=30467#p30467

Yep.

1. Use a Display Port cable

2. Right click on Windows Desktop -> "Display Settings" -> Scroll Down -> Advanced Display Settings -> Display Adaptor Properties -> Monitor Tab -> Screen Refresh pulldown -> "240Hz"

Yes, Windows makes it so goddamn hard to change the refresh rate.
In newer versions of Windows -- just only recently, typing "refresh rate" in the Start search box only saves less than 50% of the steps above.
