480hz?Are you crazy man? Even 240hz monitors cause problems.Read the reviews from trusted sources and you can easily find good 144 or 165hz monitors.Relax.Some monitors are not that bad. ;)

Relax son.Lets eat some chicken paprika rolls first.
Ok now dont expect a 480hz monitor soon.Because you need very high fps to play games properly with that monitor.Game engines are also not ready for that.See even Apex the most famous battle royal game is optimized only for 144fps.Not 240 fps or more.So if you have an excellent 144hz monitor,CONTINUE using it.Dont think about 480hz right now.Maybe 10 years later.Take some fresh air and you are ok. ;)

new here, sorry if is idiotic, but couldn't you have a 240hz display, use 240hz on the games where you can have that frame-rate and limit it to less in windows ?

(60hz here looking for new display) I don't even know if you can limit the hz to less.

All 240Hz monitors can also be run at a lower refresh rate too.

Yes. You can use 120Hz on the desktop if you want. It's what I use on my 165Hz display. All high refresh rate monitors can operate at 120Hz (and 60Hz too, but 120Hz is better for the desktop.)

You can, but most 240hz monitors havr really bad behaviour at lower refresh rates, they were not optimized for it. Alienware aw2518h keeps the best overdrive at lower refresh rates But the input lag is higher than a good native 144hz monitor.

Avoid any asus model or aoc, they have the worst overdrive even at native refresh. At lower hz they are unaceptable.

ChiefBlurBuster would you consider making a benchmark list of all the gaming worthy monitors that we could then sort by pixel response time, user rating etc... even if the review was made from another source you could have a column listing the sources etc.?

Also I guess this question has been asked thousands of time so one more couldn't hurt : what's the fastest monitor as of now?
