I changed some of my settings couple days ago and FPS is the best for me right now. Also always VividPixel:50.Lifesaver.:)
Also turned monitor adaptive sync off.I have 980GTX.It creates huge input lag for me because it probably doesnt support. But it still worked somehow.

With this monitor at 165 Hz is it normal to have a bit of blur below the words, int eh 165Hz test: https://www.testufo.com/framerates-text#pps=480&count=3 ?

I can read it in all of them, more easily in 165Hz, but it still has a downwards blur with trace free at 0-60, which gets worst with 80 and 100

I wouldn't say it's normal, just the overdrive that is not accurate.
I can notice it too. Try ASCR, seemed to improve a bit. And maybe sharpness setting.

I had a great gaming experience yesterday and I want to share it with you guys.Yesterday I played against an official streamer of Paladins.I had very good performance against him.He is a very pro gamer with a 144hz monitor who played in real competitive matches.I am using 165hz VG258QR as you people know and I am an average gamer with no competitive experience.I didnt expect my monitor to help me that much and it made me proud yesterday with its insane low input lag.I know some of you dont like this monitor but I love it.I guess I am so lucky I found the best one for myself.I still use the same settings, fps mode,tf:100,vividpixel:50(lifesaver for me :D) and freesync off. ;)

The VG258QR has an outstanding low input lag indeed!!

When I compared side by side with AlienWare AW2518HF it wasn't any slower, while having 160fps is way easier than 240.

See, this is the importance of a monitor. That's why I despise slower models. Sure, after certain point it doesn't matter but why would I pay money for something slower is always my mentality. The fact VG25 is so fast, makes it that an AW2518 240hz is a bad buy, because apart from motion clarity you are not getting a real speed advantage. The XG25/XG24 are proper low lag 240hz monitors and the difference is noticeable.

Forum URL Tip: Fixed your post for you. When using the tags, make sure they're all in one line ... keep [url] only when I want to make make words clickable like this.

Try retesting at 144Hz and see if the ghosting becomes symmetrical.

I don't want to reactivate the discussion, but since I never got to understand what you were seeing this will pretty much clear things up. A short answer a) or b) is enough:

a) Bright light

b) Dark shadow

That´s pretty much it! I can´t remember if it was that bad, but it was similar to that for sure! :D

It was for you to pick one, but from your answer I guess you mean option a).

Well, that settles it. I see that light when G-Sync Compatible is disabled, meaning your FreeSync was not correcting overdrive even if it was enabled both in NVCP and monitor.
