Just ordered this monitor.

This thread is the biggest discussion on the internet about VG258QR so I joined here for it!

I can't wait for it to get here, finally upgrading from my very basic 60hz BenQ monitor I've been using for 7 years.

I ordered the VG248QG, no pixel inversion at all ! Only default, backlight bleed in the bottom right corner, making dark washed
I am currently waiting for my MSI VA flat MAG272 delivering to compare

That sucks! :( I dread thinking of receiving a defective unit and then going through the hassle of returning it.

It's finally here!! I'm glad to say I've seen no dead pixels so far, no bleeding, and from testufo testing - no pixel inversion.

I used MatrixQW's recommended settings from a few pages back, it's working great so far.

Anything else I should be changing?

So i bought the VG258QR

I notice pixel inversion/ Interlace pattern artifacts

I did the Lagom Pixel inversion test, and all cases flicker when i move
When i just stare, no flickering
Is this normal ?

And on https://www.testufo.com/inversion#patte ... bars&ppf=1
The moving picture is full of pixel inversion, i see faint vertical line

Are all TN like this or did i have defective product ?
I think all TN will fail the Lagom pixel inversion test but I see no issues in the testufo page, the image is perfect.

Hello everyone!
So basically i bought the ASUS VG258QR about a month ago, everything was looking fine at first but then i found out that the monitor has ghosting, i tried setting TraceFree from 100 to 80 to 60-40-20-0 and well.. that didn't solve me the problem :\
ELMB is off but when i turn it on i get even much worse ghosting, like literally i barely move my mouse in-game and can see very noticeable ghosting everywhere.
Btw my monitor is plugged in to a GTX 960 and i run 165fps and above, also maked sure that i actually run 165Hz.
I don't know what to do anymore because i also can't return my monitor to the store for a refund anymore so, yeahh..
I am going to get a new gpu soon but god knows if it will solve the ghosting issue :\
Please guys i really need your help, i will much more than appreciate it!
This monitor will only work ok with G-Sync compatibility enabled and for that you need a new gpu.

If Chief can change the title to 'Asus VG258QR' would be better since everything is discussed here.

Thank you :)

Just to be clear; I should not use FreeSync for QW, right?
No need. Just set 1001 fps.

Nothing else.
Try TraceFree 100 for games.
If you see no purple coronas you're good to go.
If you see them occasionally and they don't bother you, stick with 100.

No purple stuff so far, at least not that I've noticed. Thanks!

I read a couple pages ago someone suggested Racing mode is better for lower latency. Have you tried it? I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.

Presets should not affect response time and I didn't notice Racing mode faster.
Racing mode has wrong sharpness and it's blocked so you can't change it, text won't be clear.
Also, things will have more blur. You can see this in ufo ghosting test.
