I've been a long time lurker and finally decided to create an account and post a question. After many years I am finally doing a new pc build. I purchased RTX 2070, and decided I needed to replace my ancient 60hz ASUS monitor. I play mostly fps: BFV, PUBG, Insurgency, Apex, etc. I am really interested in a solid 1080p 144z G-sync monitor in the 24" range as I am used to that size of monitor, and want to stay in the 1080p realm to maintain consistently high frames. I was wondering if I could get some guidance towards which monitors to be considering and which ones to steer clear of?
Thanks in advance!

I'm sure Notty_PT will be here shortly to espouse its values and virtues , but I can confirm the ViewSonic XG2402 is an excellent choice for 1080p 144hz competitive gaming.
I was in a similar position to yourself (PUBG and Apex are my games) and did a lot of reading here on blurbusters before registering. XG2402 has received a lot of praise around here for its very low input lag and superb pixel response.
I currently have 3 monitors in for testing. ROG PG278Q (1440p 144hz), BENQ XL2546 (1080p 240hz) and ViewSonic XG2402 (1080p 144hz). As things stand I'm leaning towards the XG2402 as my daily driver...

I've been very much in the same boat. I originally was looking at the XL2546 for 240hz but after seeing a lot of people here champion the ViewSonic XG2402, I've been very interested in going that route. With Notty_PT being the most vocal user about the quality of the monitor, and now ogchampion echoing it's statements, I might be going that route. Def worth keeping it as an option oldprospector.

Thank you for the input everyone. Will definitely be checking the XG2402 out. I notice it does not have native G-Sync. I was hoping to take advantage of G-Sync, but I am seeing that a lot of people are split on whether they enjoy it or not.

Hi! The XG2402 supports Gsync with the new Nvidia driver, since February, as long as you are using DisplayPort. Not only it supports it without any issue, but also it is one of, if not the fastest monitors when Gsync/FreeSync are activated.
With that being said, I always reccomend users to try 240hz first, because you might not face the issues that me and other users did. We are all different, and most important, we all have different uses!
If you want to stick to 144hz, ViewSonic XG2402 is defo your best bet. Also the Asus VG258QR is worth taking a look. I personally didn´t have luck with my sample, but several users are extremely happy with this model on its dedicated thread.
