I fully agree with their mice overall quality. But BenQ just acquired zowie only to expand auditory and their monitors aren't so bad in technical ways and are better than many others. They have no frame skipping bugs at all afaik comparing to other brands and input lag is decent. About colors... yeah they are awful from the box. About benq's overdrive i'm not so picky but from my experience Acer GN246HL has disgusting and noticeable overdrive comparing to any benq AMA values I ever saw on many benq models.Notty_PT wrote:I will NEVER get the hype with Benq Zowie mice, they are awful to me. Worst sensor implementations, laggy buttons, cheap materials and very expensive.
Fastest 240 Hz Monitor for E-Sports, CS:GO, Apex etc?

Re: Fastest 240 Hz Monitor for E-Sports, CS:GO, Apex etc?
I am so so confused on what monitor I should buy.
Some say the BenQ is king og 240 Hz others hate it.
Most people recommend the Asus PG258Q, but they all seem to be filthy casuals (please don't get mad at me). I know that it's a great monitor, but is it really worth the price point?
I am leaning towards one of the Asus XG monitors atm, but I am not sure yet. I want to buy one in the next week, and as I said I'm confused af. Maybe I should wait and see what 2019 brings, but looking at the upcoming monitors I only see 165 Hz's and 4k ultrawides.
The two most important features I want from the 240 Hz monitor I'm going to buy is yet again, the lowest input lag possible and no blur.

Asus XG258Q my friend.XanderBaatz wrote:The two most important features I want from the 240 Hz monitor I'm going to buy is yet again, the lowest input lag possible and no blur.
240hz 0,5ms panels were supposte to be launched this year, but it seems they were postponed or something, no one can see them. I think 240hz wise the next thing will be 27 inches 1440p screens. I doubt 1080p 240hz will see much more models soon. Is still an expensive technology, it doesn´t sell like hot cakes. When it is more standard and cheaper, then we will see loads of them, just like what happened with 144hz monitors. At the beggining you didn´t have many options, not even as many as you have 240hz right now! With time they became cheaper and tons of models appeared, but always using the same panel (on the TN models). So I can´t see any 1080p 240hz new panel soon. We already have two, wich isn´t bad. The AUO one and the Innolux wich is present on the Asus XG248Q.
XG258Q doesn´t have vividpixel! So those settings were maybe for another model. Right now I´m using User Mode, OD level 3, warm colour, contrast 70 brightness 50 (this depends on your room lights tbh).Lorentzen1337 wrote:Hi Notty_PT
I posted this in another thread but i don't think you noticed so I will try again here
Would you mind sharing your monitor settings for the XG258Q?
I have found the following mentions in some of your posts:
User or FPS Profile
OD Level 3 (Don't go higher introduces artifacts)
Avoid vividpixel (Input delay)
Warm/normal colour mode
Contrast 70
However a more complete list would be wonderful
This might be a bit off-topic but if OP decides on this monitor it could prove helpful to him as well!
Thanks!
I´m using Gsync with a 120fps cap on games where I can´t hit 200fps+ consistently and no Gsync + uncapped framerates on older engines (Quake, Aim Hero, CS, etc)

@Notty_PT can I ask you one last question about the XG258Q please?
How good is the input lag and blur reduction (overdrive) on lower refresh rates like 165 hz, 144 Hz, 120 Hz?
I am asking cause' I can't currently sustain 240 fps in all games, because my hardware isn't strong enough (GTX 1070 TI, i7-6700k), and I'd like to lower the refresh rate in some games.

Even if you can't sustain the FPS, why would you lower your refresh rate?XanderBaatz wrote:@Notty_PT can I ask you one last question about the XG258Q please?

ELMB and the VT trick in NVIDIA Control Panel or CRU.

Input lag at 144hz or any other refresh rate with DisplayPort is slow. With HDMI 2.0 it is fast, so you would need to switch cables.XanderBaatz wrote:@Notty_PT can I ask you one last question about the XG258Q please?

However, as I said on other topics, this monitor works very well with a 120fps cap + 240hz refresh rate, the overdrive stays consistent and that´s how I am using it on games where framerate is impossible to keep at 200fps+. Apex, Battlefield, Black Ops, Quake Champions, etc.

Chief Blur Buster said there are some 240hz monitors that have increased input lag at 60/120/144 refresh rates even with displayport.Notty_PT wrote:Input lag at 144hz or any other refresh rate with DisplayPort is slow. With HDMI 2.0 it is fast, so you would need to switch cables.

Is it like really significant or is it just a little bit?Notty_PT wrote:Input lag at 144hz or any other refresh rate with DisplayPort is slow. With HDMI 2.0 it is fast, so you would need to switch cables.XanderBaatz wrote:@Notty_PT can I ask you one last question about the XG258Q please?

How do you think the input lag is on 144 Hz compared to a regular 144 Hz monitor?
Re: Fastest 240 Hz Monitor for E-Sports, CS:GO, Apex etc?
@Notty_PT do you now favor the XG258Q over the XG2402 as your main display?
