Linus uploaded a very interesting human experiment regarding 240hz. The conclusion was simple, even for the average/worse player, 240hz has an obvious advantage on both reaction time and tracking capabilities. This video is very interesting so I thought It was a good idea to post it here. This video also shows that even small differences of input lag can define your aim consistency, something I say a lot here. This is why we care so much about what´s the fastest monitor even when there are minor differences between certain models. This was also the main reason I kept my Asus XG258Q, because its input lag is CRT alike. Fastest thing I ever used:

Re: Interesting study on 240hz advantages
Users asked why compare 240hz to 60 only. Why not compare to 144hz also? They have no answer.Typical.
Re: Interesting study on 240hz advantages
I agree - comparing the two extremes isn't a particularly good test. The answer was obvious from the get go.
Re: Interesting study on 240hz advantages
If you guys watch the whole video you will understand that it is an advantage over 144hz aswell, they explain their findings pretty well. The problem and the scenario where 144hz actually presents an advantage is when you can´t reach high enough fps and you have non steady 170 to 250, for example, wich will make you aim worse than having locked 130fps, for example. But when we can sustain a locked high framerate, 240hz is ofc better, not achievable on most ppl Configs tho. And 480hz will be even better and so on, like Chief says, until we reach the magic 1000hz number!
The difference between 60hz and 240hz was so big on both tracking, hit points, reaction time, that you can guess at half of that (120h/144hz) you still have disadvantage. If the difference between 240hz and 60hz was small or at least not as big then we could argue 144hz is as good. There is a reason most people that play competitively or streams are going to 240hz now that they got cheaper.

I made a thread with the video here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5488
Maybe you can put them together? It´s a very interesting video, loved the methodology and numbers.

I watched this video is was great. I'm also a big fan of when he runs the slow mo camera against a CRT playing Mario for the NES.

I met Linus at CES -- he runs a real good business as a youtuber. As a deafie, it's hard for me to become a youtuber without help, but I am a good blogger -- as you all already know by now.
I'm evaluating ideas on increasing video content of Blur Busters by 2020. Not Linus league, but some very Blur Busters flavoured videos once in a while.
