Help me choose between 24GL600F and XG240R

Post by TGosvig » 19 Jul 2019, 04:25

Hi guys

So here's the deal. I currently have 2 x XL2411 monitors. Since upgrading graphics card, I need monitors with Displayport input.

I have narrowed the search down to these two competitors: LG 24GL600F and ViewSonic XG240R.

I am able to get 2 x 24GL600F for €480/£430 and 2 x XG240R for €530/£475. So the price is pretty much the same.

I will use the monitors for mostly gaming. Also they will be mounted on a dual monitor stand/arm, so the included stand is not a problem. The design is quite the same as it seems, except for the RGB in the XG240R, which I kind of like, but easily can live without.

I general I lean towards the 24GL600F - mostly because of the price, and the fact that my TV is LG (I like to keep my products the same brand, but not a must at all).

What would you recommend me to choose, and why?

Thanks!

Depends on your use. XG240R doesn't have motion blur reduction, so if you are going to mostly play games below 144 fps - it is probably your best bet. Honestly, I kind of like the RGB option too

I would go with 24GL600F because I play non-demanding FPS titles that can be played at 144+ fps. Then you can make use of motion blur reduction. However, you will certainly sacrifice brightness and color accuracy for MBR. At least on this LG panel that seems to be the case.
Anyway, both are decent monitors from what I've read.

Good luck! ;)

I can't speak for the Viewsonic but I own the LG 24GL600F and think it's incredible. I have the computer hooked up to one HDMI port and whatever Console I want to play at the time hooked up to the other HDMI port. I have the overdrive set to the max it plays 60 hertz console content amazing. I was playing Sonic 2 and Sonic CD on it and couldn't notice the motion blur with my eyes that makes me happy. I might buy another one.
