I also got the XF252Q since 2 days for 300£, which is my first 240Hz monitor coming from an 144Hz BenQ XL2411T. I'm a high-level competitive CS:GO player and was looking for an upgrade and did some research, so I hope I made the right choice as I was also considering the BenQ XL2546 (>400£). There are so many 240Hz monitors out there, that it's difficult to pick one that does the job right and has a good price, but for the price 300£ the XF252Q seems to be a very good choice.

So far I'm very satisfied with this monitor, I didn't see a noticeable difference from 144Hz to 240Hz first, but gameplay-wise I feel like there is some difference in certain scenarios where reaction and hand-eye coordination is very important.

From a technical point of view, I can't really say if this monitor is better than the other ones on the market, but everything is very responsive and I don't see any ghosting.

The monitor only comes with an HDMI cable and I experienced a long transition time when switching from game to desktop and vice versa. I fixed this by using display port instead, so I highly recommend using DP. Additionally the monitor is very bright out of the box and nearly burned my eyes. I turned it down from 50 to 5.

My settings:
Mode: User

Picture
Brightness: 5
Contrast: 20
Black Boost: 10
Blue Light: Off
ACM: Off
HDR: Off (Disabled anyway)
Super Sharpness: Off

Color
Gamma: 2.2
Color Temp: Warm

Gaming
Over Drive: Normal
FreeSync: Off
VRB: Off
Ultra-Low Latency: On
AimPoint: Off
In my opinion these settings give me a balanced picture, but if you see anything that can be improved, let me know.

Other than that, I'd like to know how this monitor compares to other 240Hz monitors and if I made the right choice.

If you need any tests I can do, let me know as well, thanks.

Damn no DP cable? Anyone can recommend a cable?

Also my friend has an AG251FZ2 and a XL2540 and he says the AG251FZ2 is way too sharp and clear, and has no ghosting but his XL2540 has ghosting. He's torn on which to keep.

Just get the cheapest DP cable, there is no difference in signal quality.

Why no Overdrive on the Extreme setting? Doesn't that give the lowest input lag/latency? I'm not sure though, not in the monitor masterrace scene yet.

CSGO player here as well, I've heard the same that it's very bright yet I play with 100 brightness and 55 contrast. I know I play on higher brightness than most people but 5 seems super low to me.

Thanks for info, I was wondering why it took so long. Gotta buy DP I guess.

Also: RTINGS picked the XF252Q up! can't wait for a review to compare with tftcentral.

I didn't bother with it yet, because of
The Extreme mode showed some noticeable and distracting overshoot artefacts in the form of pale halos behind moving objects.

Both these sites should test the BenQ so we would know which one is better... I guess I will wait for the RTINGS review to make my decision.

I'm also surprised that the XF252Q doesn't get more attention.

I've just set Over Drive to Extreme and VRB to Extreme as well. I must say that there is a difference and motions are even more clear. Can't say if input lag is noticeable lower, but it feels very responsive.

Got and tested the xl 2546 yesterday and I must say, that I'm kinda disappointed and will be sending it back.
The advantages it offers over my current 120hz XL2420T with strobelight utility are very few, the colors are worse and 500 EUR is a steep price to pay for that.
I'd rather wait for the OMEN X 27. Freesync 2 at 240 HZ with HDR and a higher resolution on top of that just sounds too good.

So if choosing between XF252Q and Zowie i'd probably go for the first.

Regards
