240hz monitors not sharp like 144hz?

Hello. I've been a long time lurker here. I've noticed this issue for a while, and I had a friend today that brought this up to my attention today as well.
So I have had an AW2518HF for almost a year now. It has been great. 240hz is so smooth, and the colors are great. However, the image is not sharp compared to my 144hz AOC G2460PF. I did research and the closest thing I found related to this issue was this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3758. However, I couldn't find any concrete answers.
I switched back to my 144hz, and because I was so used to 240hz, it was definitely not as smooth. However, enemies in Siege were exponentially brighter and clear. They were so much easier to distinguish. Even outside of games and in regular Windows browsing, the image of the 240hz is noticeably fuzzier. It's not a deal breaker, but it's enough of a deal breaker when I'm playing competitive shooters. Is my monitor defective, or are 240hz monitors just like this?
My friend is a professional FPS player that just bought a PG258Q, and he noticed it was not as sharp either.
