Considering all the new monitors released, and wanting both a fast monitor in regard to input lag/response time and have a dedicated G-Sync module, would the OMEN X 25 and Predator XN253QN be the only runners?
Are there alternative new fast monitors with dedicated G-Sync modules? Which one would you suggest?
Thanks for reading!
OMEN X 25 or Predator XN253QN for G-Sync?
Re: OMEN X 25 or Predator XN253QN for G-Sync?
since there no reviews on omen x25 and i dont know what panel they use i will go with XN253QX 0.4ms gsync and they use last panel from auo M250HTN01.9 very good overdrive from the 253qxFabulist wrote:Considering all the new monitors released, and wanting both a fast monitor in regard to input lag/response time and have a dedicated G-Sync module, would the OMEN X 25 and Predator XN253QN be the only runners?

Re: OMEN X 25 or Predator XN253QN for G-Sync?
I see, thanks. As far as I understand I am right in saying these are in fact the only new and fast G-Sync monitors. Assuming the performance of Omen 25X's (non g-sync) from rtings.com is on par with the Omen 25 (g-sync), would you say the XN253QX is still better?pox02 wrote:since there no reviews on omen x25 and i dont know what panel they use i will go with XN253QX 0.4ms gsync and they use last panel from auo M250HTN01.9 very good overdrive from the 253qx

I see that XN253QX pushes 0.4ms only on extreme mode, which does not work with freesync/g-sync, is that true?
Re: OMEN X 25 or Predator XN253QN for G-Sync?
i didnt test the omen 25 you cant be sure if its same input lag/response time wise as 25xf until there be any reviews on it so i will go with XN253QX cause its use the last panel and have amazing response time

I bought the XN253QX because there was a review on pcmonitors.info. No issues so far, just typical TN downsides... like described in the review - but motion handling is really great.
Re: OMEN X 25 or Predator XN253QN for G-Sync?
Are you the reviewer? Any chance you will test the Omen 25 in the future as so I can wait?pox02 wrote:i didnt test the omen 25 you cant be sure if its same input lag/response time wise as 25xf until there be any reviews on it so i will go with XN253QX cause its use the last panel and have amazing response time
But what if we consider the performance of the Omen 25 is identical to the Omen 25 X, taking into account the review from pcmonitors and rtings.com, you would still go for the XN253QX?
EDIT: as in regard to the 3.26ms stated.
Can you please let me know if you can in fact use G-Sync and the low latency mode?Tenobaal wrote:I bought the XN253QX because there was a review on pcmonitors.info. No issues so far, just typical TN downsides... like described in the review - but motion handling is really great.

Re: OMEN X 25 or Predator XN253QN for G-Sync?
I got the XN253QX and it's pretty good overall, but the contrast ratio sucks. Great overdrive tuning, good OOTB colour and gamma accuracy on the 2.2 gamma setting (which corresponds to a 2.27 central average - perfect for TN with gamma shift) and the 144Hz ULMB mode is superb with little strobe crosstalk. But the contrast ratio on my unit is 610:1 and it looks immediately noticeably worse than my XG240R which reached 900:1 after warming up for long enough.
On the bright side, this new M250HTN01.9 panel is not nearly as sensitive to temperature as the old M240HW01 V80, so where previously the monitor would have washed out gamma and low contrast when it was first turned on (especially on a cold day) and would take 3–4 hours to stabilise, this new monitor basically launches stable.

G-Sync model doesn't have "low latency mode" option because it is always low latency.Fabulist wrote:Can you please let me know if you can in fact use G-Sync and the low latency mode?Tenobaal wrote:I bought the XN253QX because there was a review on pcmonitors.info. Thanks for sharing this information people, I really hope we see more comparative reviews from various websites concerning all these new monitors.
Tenobaal can you explain how have you verified this?

It doesn't look like the g-sync module ever needed any form or special latency mode. Aren't there any tests between gsync and non-gsync versions of displays?Fabulist wrote:Tenobaal can you explain how have you verified this?
