using(capping) the Alienware AW2518H at only 144hz

Post by Nvideogames » 01 Oct 2019, 06:54

Hello everyone first time poster here,

I am currently in the market for a new Monitor and my requirements are 1080p, G-Sync Module and 144hz with minimal ghosting and motion blur.

I have been thinking about getting the Alienware AW2518H.
My question would be if I could just set the hz to 144 and have the best performance in terms of no ghosting and low motion blur.

Thanks

If you only want 144hz Gsync, there are cheaper options. If you are set on this monitor it has a variable refresh rate so if you enable gsync it will be within the FPS range of whatever fps you set the game to.

So example: you want to play fortnite (on this monitor) at 144 fps Gsync.
Enable Gsync fullscreen + Vsync in the nvidia control panel
Make sure in windows display settings > graphic settings > VRR is on
Cap FPS to 144 in fortnite client settings

Also make sure any in game vsync settings are turned off
