IMHO, even if you've been waiting forever now, I'd still advise you to just hold off just a couple months extra. You've come too long, why give up now? If it were earlier this year then that would have been a different story.
I've been waiting to buy a monitor for 6 months now, currently playing on 60Hz. After waiting so long, I decided to buy a monitor just for competitive gaming and a 34 inch VA panel for other stuff. After seeing the tftcentral review of the 27" 240Hz IPS panels, specifically the blurry 240hz performance compared to latest generation of TN panels like the acer XN3, I simply bought the TN 240hz XN3. Keep in mind the 240hz IPS panel still had more positives than negatives like lowest input lag, and 0 overshoot. I guess that as an engineer, I couldn't get past the fact that only 37% of the pixels were refreshed within the frame window.

Then again, because i'm buying another panel i don't really care too much about the image quality. Allot of experts (tftcentral, the chief) are really praising these panels and i believe they are a great option for allot of people, i'm just not sure they are the best option for competitive gaming.

I think the XN253Q has the best reviews/comments. Tbh I don't know where did you hear the aw2518hf was any good, I was in the same boat as you 2 months ago and only saw bad reviews on it, it is an old monitor. I end up buying the Omen X 25f as it was on sale for $ 239. It had a nice review in rtings.com, nobody knows if it has the new AU panel but hey, its fast. I can say that I am happy with my purchase.
Bought 5 min ago the XN253QX it seems that this one has really good reviews. Hopefully not a mistake.

Hi guys, what's the next best option for someone like me living thoussaaands of miles away from US? I can't buy or ship the XN253QX..

I only have Asus XG258Q, Asus pg248q and some BenQ strobbing monitors as options. I play fortnite and my requirements are pretty much similar to SwaggyFn above. Btw Swaggy, thanks for mentioning that the dell monitor is shit, I did have the option to buy that one as well

Yeah, I discussed this specific one in the previous page (of this thread).

You kinda got my hopes up. I thought you were about to say that they've become available. :( I Google it every day but so far, that's the best I've come up with, as I mentioned in the previous page. Not sure if it means that it's already available in Asia or if it's merely a pre-order page of some kind...

lol. I hate that feeling, I always wondered why there isn't an app that sends you an alert when a new product is released/available to purchase.

Won't IPS display have a greater input lag than TN?

It might or it might not. Input lag does not depend on whether the panel is TN or IPS. Some IPS monitors for example have lower input lag than TN monitors.
