Best 240Hz to buy in early 2020

Hello guys,

currently I am using a ROG Swift PG278Q which I really liked at the beginning. Because I play FPS competitively (settings always on low and sometimes even 4:3) I don't really utilize the 2k resolution. Actually I only use it for Desktop and Youtube, I am thinking about getting a 240Hz monitor. After reading through your website, watching reviews and talking to my friends I narrowed the competitors down to the following three:
- XG270 (second monitor and all monitors at work are from ViewSonic and I also really like them)
- XL2546 (my favourite monitor ever was my XL2411Z so I really like benq)
- KD25F

I would love to hear which monitor you guys could recommend for someone who dosn't really looks for pretty pictures acurate colors or anything like that. Those things are a plus but the most important thing is the competitive advantage.

Thank you in advance!

I’m familiar with the XG270 and the XL2546. They are both fantastic and having done work (one way or another) so I’ll tend to be biased to those I’ve had most work with.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the XL2546 will not single-strobe 60 Hz like the XL2411Z. But neither can the XG270.

Also Blur Busters Strobe Utility is less effective on that model than others. However, it’s still a useful tool. Still, the gap narrows relative to XG270 here, which is already pre-tuned pretty well at the popular refresh rates.

I’m less familiar with the KD25F, as I haven’t seen it personally.

Thank you for that helpful answer! Currently I tend to the BenQ. That is probably because I was always really happy with theire products and I think 24' is the better screensize for 1920x1080. Also I like to get into tweaking stuff by my own (often helps to understand the technology behind it a little bit better).

Thanks again for the fast answer and merry christmas to you and your loved ones!

I'm actually surprised to see that Chief hasn't mentioned any of the newer TN monitors with the newer panels. Is there a reason behind it? o-o

OP, it seems like you are in the same position as this guy, so my answer to him would suit you as well (there are even more monitors who utilize the newer AUO panel).

I will have a look at the suggested monitors! What is the advantage of the newer panel? Wouldn't it be smarter to go for the XG270 then because it has an IPS panel? Or even wait for the 2020 release cycle with announced ips panels and probably a refresh of the benq product lineup.

I've been using BenQ XL2546 for 1 year and MSI KD25F for 1 week. Acer XN253QX is superior (used Acer XN253QP for a week). So the real question you should be asking XG270 vs XN253QX.

Thank you for your view on the XL2546. My only problem with the XG270 is the 27' display size. Is there anyone who has experience with that monitor size and resolution? I am not sure If that is optimal for 1080p.
Would you guys even recommend buying a panel now our would you just wait till next year?

Agree, would love to hear more about ppl that compared this two units, i def. prefere 23" / 24" / 25" over 27" but if everything else is a little bit better on the xg270 i can deal with the 27" i guess ..

I might order their XN253QX and the XG270 and test which suits me better. I am used to playing 1080p on 27 with my current monitor and I never had problems. I agree with the positive features of the XG270 outweighing the 27‘ size.

I just received the ROG PG258Q for Christmas; is the XN253QX a far superior monitor that I should exchange for? I didn't see the XN253QX on the List of Best Gaming Monitors by Blur Busters yet.
