Hi,

if I buy the XL2546S now, can I update the firmware later on manually or do I need to send back the monitor to BenQ? Probably there's a huge difference between v001 and v002 when it comes to strobing on lower frequencies... It's finally on stock in Germany but I'm not sure if they will send it with the newer firmware that's why I'm asking. Any could be helpful and much appreciated. Thanks.
should i not buy it from USA amazon? can we upgrade firmware?

As far as I know, v002 fixes a very specific issue with DyAC not keeping its settings between saved profiles and shouldn’t have any effect on actual hardware functionality, someone made a video with this but it’s not very clear. I opened a ticket with BenQ but haven’t heard back from them regarding firmware upgrades.

My precise question is, does it double strobe at 100hz? Or does it single strobe? You can just look at 60hz and 100hz...if both have an obvious double image across the -entire- screen like 60hz, then its double all the way. If 100hz has at least part of the screen with a nice single smooth image without a double image, it's single strobe.
I have the same doubt, maybe Dirty Scrubz could give us a 100FPS/Hz ufo pursuit camera video. Does it very weel, amazing quality, is almost like see directly what there are if you are in front of monitor. Thanks in advance !
UPDATED VIDEO, PREVIOUS RESULT INVALID DUE TO FIREFOX:
phpBB [video]
Thank you! Perfect.

I'll have to buy this monitor if my XL2720Z completely dies and nothing comes out that can single strobe at 60hz in the future. 100hz and 120hz is important to me because I like to play vsync on/blur reduction, and it's hard to maintain 240fps/240hz in games like Overwatch and Apex Legends. I"m still mad about the 60hz situation. I wish I could do some undocumented strange setting to find a backdoor to 'trick' it but I guess that's just not possible. (I've seen from the unofficial Gsync+ULMB simultaneously monitors like the Dell and others, that they CAN single strobe at 60hz, just ULMB can't be enabled specifically there).

New video at 100 Hz with tweaks in the service menu and custom VT. I used the crosstalk fullscreen test to show the results:

Those of you who will soon be receiving your orders, please check your firmware version as the latest should be v002. If it is the new firmware, please do the same tests as me and report your results so we can compare if there's any differences.

Thanks.
Scrubz, can you do a favor for us? :)
Can you do a 60hz double strobe capture so we can see just how bad it is? :)
Then I can decide if i should jump ship. I really want a monitor that is brighter at strobing than my old one :(

Sorry to pester you and thank you for the awesome videos.

Hi,

On which website do you see it in Germany? Still can't find it anywhere in Europe...
At geizhals.de was a shop 2 days ago where the monitor was available.

I'd like to know the input lag of the XL2546S with DyAc+ on/off.

Little to none if you push the strobe phase below the crosshair area, read this post by Chief: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6206&start=80#p51211

So something similar to this Image with the values divided by 2, so between 0 and 4.166 ms. Hopefully this part of the equation is not too bad seeing how it should hopefully be closer to 0 near the center of the screen, the most crucial part for competitive fps gaming.

So that covers the added latency from DyAc+ on. What about the baseline input lag of the monitor with DyAc+ off? I'd like to hear from some testing sites about the input lag of the XL2546S. One of the main reasons I'm considering buying it is that I have the ViewSonic XG2530 and I am unhappy with its high input lag.
