My specualtion...

Probably something to do with 0.5ms 25" TN panels shortage. Don't see zowie going IPS (at least not this year).
They either ordered more 0.5 TN panels for spetember anouncement which they gonna call something like "Super fast liquid crystal esports panel"
Or they really going to release 360hz TN for 1200$+ which I don't really believe because 360hz TNs are cherry picked massively overclocked 240hz panels from what I heard that also might result in them being always out of stock.

Yeah little bit hurt my feelings, but I got one 2546S for 380 pound so I dont mind, the monitor is very good no problem with it!
By the way new message from Benq support:

"Sorry for the misunderstanding, actually the XL2546S is currently facing production shortage related to the current pandemic, it has not been officially discontinued. We always work on new products and we whenever we have anything to announce, we will share it in our social media and website. Whenever a new product comes, this does not necessarily mean it is replacing another model, for example we currently have XL2540, XL2546 and XL2546S for sale."

Thats the message from reddit and I don't believe even the slightest to be true.
Something is cooking and it sure isn't XL2546S.

I have just cancelled my XL2546S order from amazon.de

Damnit, my XL2546S is due to arrive Monday. I'm torn about what to do, as I felt the XL2546S was only a minor upgrade over the XL2546 but seeing as I'm upgrading from an old 144Hz panel, I didn't mind that. Now, I'm almost entirely sure the September announcement is going to be a massive upgrade, that is, it's going to be the big technology jump that the XL2546S wasn't.

Either that, or it's a supply issue and the XL2546S will be better than their September replacement, in which case I'd be one of the lucky few with a XL2546S. What do I do here? I can easily return the XL2546S, as I have ordered it from Amazon.

Also, what is the usual delay between BenQ announcing a monitor and the monitor actually being available? If we're talking about a likely 2021 release, I might keep my XL2546S.

What to do?

Am in the same situation as you. I feel like i got punched in the balls.
It was 450€, for me its almost half of a months work, i expected this to last a lot, but i wasn't very sure about it when i first got it, now am 90% sure about returning it.
I find DYAC horrible, atleast in Apex, it just makes it much harder to hit targets since it makes the object edges "vibrating"

Someone on reddit claimed he was told by a Zowie rep that the XL2546S will be replaced by "the next best thing". Now english isn't my native language, but doesn't that mean that the XL2546S will actually remain superior and the september release will be a compromise (maybe with an inferior TN panel or something due to shortages)? I wish BenQ/Zowie would be more transparent about this, ugh.

Well Nexina I can confirm the rep said exactly that because he said it to me. I posted that on reddit. I've gotten 3 different answers from 3 different reps. Im hoping for the best and my monitor arrives today.

What is all this insanity about viewing angles ? I'm always positioned infront of my monitor and my desk chair and body are all aligned to face my monitor at a consistent position.
I have the monitor, and I assumed that I wouldn't complain about viewing angles as I have a single monitor set up. Even while staring straight at the monitor the top will look darker.

Also there seems to be issues with the black uniformity. If I open a full black picture some horizontal spots will appear darker while others will have some glow to them. This however, is only noticeable if viewed at from a significantly steep vertical angle. I know It's a Tn monitor but I still find this unsual.

If I were waiting on an xl2546s I’d cancel it and either buy from another brand or wait to see what they announce in September. If you can’t wait then I guess keep your orders because knowing how BenQ operates and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, anything announced in September likely won’t be out in mass quantities until the end of 2020 and likely h1 2021.

I'm probably going to return mine just to be safe. I just wish Benq was more transparent and let us know why it is being discontinued. Not to mention it's scummy for them to announce that only after it went out of stock.
