Please Help Blur Busters Improve Strobe Utility

If you can do me a favour:

Try hitting the "F" key and forcing a different BenQ monitor onto your XL2546S. If it works, please inform me which BenQ monitor the XL2546S successfully uses (for Persistence / Crosstalk). Failing this, one can try to track them down through experimentation with Entech Taiwan's SoftMCCS.exe

Open the C:\Program Files (x86)\Blur Busters\Blur Busters Strobe Util\BlurBustersStrobeUtility.ini file and try creating a new section specifically for the XL2546S.

You can use Entech Taiwan's SoftMCCS.exe to help with adding new monitor models to BlurBustersStrobeUtility.ini configuration file (Yes, it's an old-fashioned INI file; debugging is easier this way for this kind of stuff).

For easier automatic detection of the model names missing from the INI file, I need the plug-n-play device ID's from Entech Taiwan SoftMCCS (such as "BNQ74F6") of all the separate ports (HDMI, DP, VGA), I use a regex/wildcard for this.

Email this information to mark[at]blurbusters.com too.

Thank you!
Hi Chief,

I have managed to edit the INI file to make the XL2546S work properly. However, I only have a DP cable available, which means I cannot give you the other device IDs. If someone else can help, you can find the device ID in the hardware manager.

With 0x4D as the CommandEnable, all it does is turn off Dyac+ if it was turned on to high/premium and it sets it back to off. Re-activating the box doesn't turn Dyac+ back on. I'm not sure if this is the intended behavior or not.

As for the min and max values, I have tested them by trying to go below/above, closing the utility and re-opening it. When setting out of range values, it reverts back to the limits when re-opening the utility. For example, I tried setting the StrobeLen to 26+ but it always reverted back to 25. I could also not see any visual changes past the min/max values I found, so I'm pretty sure they are right.

[Display15]
Name=XL2546S
Device=BNQ7F7A
CommandEnable=0x4D
CommandStrobeLen=0x4E
CommandStrobePhase=0x4F
HasSingleStrobe60Hz=false
StrobeLenMin=1
StrobeLenMax=25
StrobeLenReversed=true
StrobePhaseMin=0
StrobePhaseMax=100

has anyone got to compare Benq XL with predator XB273GX?
I already have an ips 34 21/9 160hz for generic gaming, I want to buy a second dedicated monitor only for competitive fps, I don't care if TN or IPS, I'm just looking for the fastest 240hz panel on the market.
which? lol
XL2746 is the best?

I saw in another thread they were talking about the human benchmark website. Decided to give it a shot, this is a first attempt dry run, so I had no idea what to expect:

That's with DyAc+ on (I keep it on 24/7) at 240 Hz. For reference I'm a 42 yr old male in pretty decent shape. Those of you in the 18-25 yr old range should be able to top this result.

How many tries was this? I tried and did 155ms average from 5 tries on XL2411Z 144Hz. 28 years old. Not sure how much better the results would be at 240Hz, but I think your score is really good if it's legit (e.g. you didn't accidentally get like 5ms hit which counted towards your average).
BenQ XL2546K @ 240Hz (DyAC+) • ROCCAT Kone Pro Air @ 1000Hz • HyperX Alloy Origins • CORSAIR MM350 PRO Premium • HyperX Cloud Revolver • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 @ 2130MHz/8000MHz • Intel Core i7-8700K @ 4.8GHz • G.SKILL RipjawsV 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz CL15

I also have xl2411z, did an average of 162 ms,
with the xl2546s did 165 ms
So literally no difference, i may have been more tense with the xl2546s, or even colder hands

Dyac shouldn't make a difference in a reaction test
hz and dyac matters in a motion test, like tracking targets

First try with all 5 runs, no accidental clicks.

Reason I mentioned dyac is because people are under the assumption it increases input lag but it doesn’t in any meaningful way.

Ah yes, good point, haven't noticed any sluggishness or anything with the dyac
